The look through the camera is like a door to another world.
Looking close...on Friday: Minimalism on a black background
Fork reflected in a tiny mirror. Mirror is 5 cm x 3.5 cm.
Mirror Lake is formed by a lovely Ozark stream which was dammed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. The lake itself reflects the surrounding trees, and the water ultimately pours over this man-made waterfall. Nearby is the remains of an old two-story mill which was used for grinding grain. The lake, falls, and mill are located in northern Arkansas, USA, near the small town of Fifty-Six, AR. I will post a digital color photo of the lake itself soon.
Camera: Argus 40, pseudo-TLR with 75mm f4.5 Varex lens. Large, bright shiny glass waist-level viewfinder. 1950s camera.
Film: Ilford Delta ISO 100, 120 film respooled to fit in this 620 camera.
Developing: HC-110, Dilution H, 9 min.

Southbound BNSF stack train races along the Mississippi River (out of view behind the trees) in western Wisconsin. I'm thinking this is somewhere between Stoddard and Ferryville. October 10, 2010.

Kind of nasty outside today, and I'm feeling a little creative. So I started playing with mirrors and a polarizer
Photographed in Eagle Cap Wilderness, Oregon. We hiked from the Two Pan Trailhead to Mirror Lake where we camped 2 nights just above Mirror Lake at Upper Lake. Popular Mirror Lake is located near the end of East Lostine Trail at elevation 7595 ft about 7 miles from the trailhead.

A tiny, slender, and amazingly transparent mirror spider, I think a male Thwaitesia sp., found in Madagascar. In case you can't tell on a small screen, they're called mirror spiders because of the metallic, mirror-shiny spots on their abdomens. I don't often use this long, narrow aspect ratio (that matches my iMac screen), but it worked for me for this subject.
it was one hour after sunset, the lake acted like mirror clearly shown the reflection of the sky ! in the photo the red dot was a plane happened fly by. without tripod on hand, i can only boost the ISO to crazily high...

re-touched in December, 2015... tried to reduce some noises...
