A continuing series of autobiographical builds. This work was started in Jan 2015 and after much delay finally completed in the last few weeks.

See the previous builds in the series:

Work in Progress, Lurie Garden, Cake Topper, and 411C

A few pictures from my day long job interview at LEGOLAND California. I interviewed to be a Model Builder at the Model Shop, but was unable to take the job.

It killed me to turn them down, but DC is about as awesome a LEGO city as you can get after LEGOLAND or Seattle.

6627 Convertible, only larger.

Built to promote a challange proposal at LUGNuts.

More at brickshelf, when moderated.

'How am I meant to reach that?'

Porco's Savoia S.21 is a wonderfully whimsical vehicle, and was a really fun challenge to reproduce in Lego. While I am really happy with the overall shape, and especially with the wings and tail section, I am not satisfied with the nose section, which I will probably redesign at some point.

I designed and built this model for the 2019 Christchurch Brick Show.

Built this Viking ship and 9 vikings for a House of Denmark LUG event. The tree I repurposed from a previous LUG event.

Yes, I know, Vikings did not wear horns on their helmets as much as we think they did and they also did not just battle and pillage villages. They also farmed, traded and setup villages, but such is the stereotype that is engrained in our minds, so here is a stereotypical image of the Vikings, on the occasional battle when they ran low on food and supplies.

Originally I meant to build a minifigure scale Viking ship, but quickly I realized that the bottom ship hull pieces were too wide and so miniland scale it became.

Porco Rosso is one of my favourite films by Studio Ghibli, and when I saw the film for the first time, I immediately wanted to build Porco and Curtis's planes out of Lego.

Please see the other pictures for closer shots of both planes.

Both models were originally constructed in 2019.

Made at the suggestion of a friend, he wants to bring the tumbler to a winter themed expo and need something to make it fit the theme. :))

Yoshi is ready for a collaborative Brickworld 2013 project with Dan Church and Casey McCoy, but what could it be?

After seeing Arkov's fantastic Defender of Arso figure, www.flickr.com/photos/arkov/8041801767/in/photostream

I knew I had to reskin it as Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider games.

I didn't have enough Azure or Medium blue to do the original outfit from the games, but I did have the right pieces to do the costume from Tomb Raider Underworld.

I almost went full Ralph rip-off but I decided to do my own figure. But regardless, the gangs all here!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays guys, hope you all have a good end to the year:)

I've officially decided I'm not a fan of miniland scale.

Went to LEGOLAND last Sunday to get some pictures of their fireworks, and wanted to see if I could get them over the models in Miniland. The shot I planned on didn't work out, as I had to quickly move from that spot to here right after the 1st shells went off. I do like where I ended up, though, with the fireworks going off over the model of the Orlando Eye.

Recording Studio 1980 - My biggest and most detailed #lego build to date. Won best in category Art & Architecture at Bricking Bavaria 2018 #miniland #legoland

Built for contest (again). The challenge this time was to build a character from opera, movie, comic, book or theathe play. Bonus point were promised for opera, do here it is - Brunhilde from Wagners's Der Ring des Nibelungen.

Totally inspired by Moko.

Curtis's Curtiss R3C was a less challenging shape to reproduce, buit was still a really fun model to design and build.

not all our ideas can work out. the plastic of these whip pieces is so different, that it's difficult to maintain uniformity, so they all wobble at slightly different angles. not very aesthetically pleasing in any house.

IMGP8772

The first concept car. Built for LUGNuts' "What A Concept" challenge.

Miniland style figure of Revy from the anime Black Lagoon. Built for the 100 Piece Brick Built Figure Contest on Mocpages.

Revy consists of 70 pieces, 72 counting the BA guns. She wields 2 custom Beretta 92's in the anime but since I don't have any BA handguns that would fit the scale I went with the FMG's.

Inspired by Pasukaru76's Anime Girls moc series.

Reference.

Based on the Xbox Halo series.

#23/365

I realized the other day I haven't done a proper faux tilt-shift photo for this year yet. I tried to get one of the actually park, but the highest place I could access was Tarzan's treehouse (was better as the Swiss Family Robinson Tree house). Once up there I realized there were to many branches and leaves in the way. Too bad the skyway isn't still open. One day after I win the lottery I'll buy a real tilt shift lens.

LEGOLAND sent out a press release yesterday with some bad news: Star Wars Miniland will be removed from all LEGOLAND parks. January 6th, 2020 will be the last day that visitors can view a selection of epic scenes from all of the Star Wars movies recreated in miniland-scale.

This year, 2019, was...

My friend Branko from LUG Kockice helped me build this for our advent exhibition in ÄŒakovec. Another Kockice member, Darko built the diorama sans figures and Deni built some cows so in the end it will be a nice collaboration of four authors.

(The window is the same as on Darko's diorama and it helped a bit with determining the scale of the figures.)
