When it's almost spring and roses have yet to bloom, it's a delight to have miniature roses on hand.

On this morning's walk with Mr. Eliot, came across this pretty miniature rose in a neighbor's garden.

There are a couple of notable things here that caught my eye. First of all, there is the miniature horse which is so cute. I am going to call her ‘Tiny Tina.’ Secondly, who designed the roof on the shed? I can’t image what purpose that serves. Thirdly, there is a really large flying bug, which I can’t identify, on the rope in front of Tiny Tina. Lastly, there are a number of different fence styles. Why just stick to one when you can mix it up? HFF

We have several "wave" sculptures from artists of beaches we visit. This one is approximately three inches tall. Until I looked at it through my macro lens, I thought it was all blue with clear water drops. I was surprised to see so many colors fired inside.

Ferns were not to be overlooked on this walk trough the woods, their bright green was drawing my attention to the forest floor.

Ferns and their relatives gave rise to the first tree-like plants and, 385 million years ago, to the first forests.
