Back in my day a mini truck was just nice, lowered to car height, small truck with maybe some engine tuning. Now its turned into tube frames with a pickup truck shell driving 3mm off the ground wearing the largest rims that will fit. Which looks nice. But this drives nice, and I like driving not just looking k thanks.
The front's a little off, the grille should be wider and the headlights narrower. But muh lense technique!
This all started with a hyper-realistic engine bay, complete with double wishbone suspension arms, fake struts, bottle o stuff, and a brake booster.

Na 2 verschillende Landwinds mijn eerste Dongfeng-spot. Ik wist niet dat deze auto's ook in ons land werden verkocht.
After spotting 2 different Landwinds, my first Dongfeng-spot. For me it is new that these trucks are sold here in The Netherlands
Shag carpets were an early addition when I still gave a heck. The dashboard came later when I did not.
Apparently the poor guy didn't even have the nice replacement front sheetmetal painted before doing a number on it!
Don't worry, he walked away from this.
The utility lines have amazing resilience!
Interesting that there are still a couple of old TV antennas in this.
These tiny trucks are built for the Japanese and European market though a handful find their way into Canada. I've seen a few Honda and a couple Isuzu ones. Spotted this in London, Ontario.
This is probably one of the most convoluted designs I've ever conceived. There's a lot left out that would need to be added - lots of 1/2 bushings to fill gaps, a few other things. Adding 1x6 plates on either side and then attached to the jumper plates should allow standard construction above this point.
In theory... it should work. The two caveats are that the gears in the center can tilt and are only held in place because of the 1x2 2-holed technic bricks, and there are only 2 studs holding the plates that would be on top to the rest of the design.
Perhaps someone can take this idea and run with it and make something better.
