Animals est le dixième album studio du groupe britannique de rock progressif Pink Floyd, sorti le 21 janvier 1977 au Royaume-Uni.
Cet album-concept brosse une critique acerbe et virulente des conditions socio-politiques au Royaume-Uni vers la fin des années 1970 et marque une transition notable sur le plan du style musical de Pink Floyd par rapport à ses travaux antérieurs. L'album est enregistré aux studios du groupe, Britannia Row, à Londres, mais sa production est ponctuée par les premiers signes de désaccord entre les membres de la formation, qui culmineront avec le départ du claviériste Richard Wright deux ans plus tard. La pochette de l'album, conçue par Roger Waters et photographiée par le collectif de graphisme Hipgnosis, montre un cochon flottant entre deux cheminées de la Battersea Power Station.
Animals is the tenth studio album by the British progressive rock band Pink Floyd, released on January 21, 1977, in the United Kingdom.
This concept album offers a scathing and virulent critique of the socio-political conditions in the UK towards the end of the 1970s and marks a significant shift in Pink Floyd's musical style compared to their earlier work. The album was recorded at the band's Britannia Row Studios in London, but its production was marked by the first signs of discord among the band members, culminating in the departure of keyboardist Richard Wright two years later. The album cover, designed by Roger Waters and photographed by the graphic design collective Hipgnosis, depicts a pig floating between two chimneys of Battersea Power Station.
