A second outing for this image as I wasn't happy with the colours in my original posting and quickly deleted it as the red bricks of the Viaduct were washed out. The 120 feet tall structure has 13 arches in total and one remains hidden by trees on the east side [left] of the river. It served the railway from Whitby to Scarborough which was closed in 1965 as part of the Beeching Axe. The route is now popular with walkers and cyclists, known locally as the Cinder Track. Opened in 1885, the line followed the scenic coastline through difficult but beautiful terrain, via Robin Hoods Bay. I imagine that the journey must have been a delight, back in the days of steam. The stations and route proved impractical and difficult to maintain leading to its closure. The government shut down many small lines at that time in an effort to save money and modernise our rail system. Such a shame that I couldn't include a locomotive and carriages crossing this striking landmark. I chose this shot because of the foreground beached trawler in its little dock.
I'm always flattered and surprised to find one of my shots in Explore and this is my first of 2026. Thank you for simply looking, your favourites and kind comments are gratefully received and will brighten my day.

The ground crew chief politely explained to the pilots that there would be a slight delay before the microdrone would be ready to fly.

Our First Chinese Church of Christ Hiking Fellowship went up the Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail in East end of the island of O'ahu in Hawai'i today. This was an Aerial 360° Equirectangular VR I took from the summit. The two islands are Manana a.k.a. Rabbit Island and Kaohikaipu, both State Seabird Sanctuaries. On the shoreline you can see Sea Life Park as well as the Makai Pier which houses the Hawaii Undersea Research Laboratory (HURL). On the right of the islands on the cliff, you can see the Makapu'u Point Lighthouse.
