Well yesterday (January 15th, 2011) my wife and I picked up our Black Mini Cooper Countryman with Black/Anthracite wheels. We drove 220 miles from Dallas, Texas to Edmond Oklahoma to pick it up. Liking it a lot so far. I went out this morning and took a few photos. The weather was rainy, but I managed to get some decent shots anyway.

2022 Case A recolour of the Matchbox 2011 MINI Cooper Countryman, one of several, perhaps too many, found recently at Tesco. A mixture of cheapo features yet really well painted and detailed but that unfortunately seems to be the way with a lot of modern Matchbox models. Mint and boxed.

Bright vibrant new 2021 recolour of the Matchbox 2011 MINI Cooper Countryman. A pretty realistic casting which only reminds you of its one Dollar price point by its one piece plastic upper body. Mint and boxed.

A rather bulky looking MINI Cooper Countryman by Maisto for their budget Fresh Metal line up. Cost saving measures now implemented by Matchbox too ensures its entire top half is made of one piece plastic which of course hides a lack of interior. To its credit it looks and feels substantial with a glossy metallic blue finish and lovely detailing. Part of a 20 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

Maisto were an early adopter of the one piece plastic upper body method now so beloved with the likes of Matchbox and increasingly Hot Wheels too. Its not a technique which has gone down well with collectors but as all the above brands are aimed at the pocket money toy market cost savings clearly need to be made.
The Maisto MINI Cooper Countryman is a notable example which they've been producing since 2019 and will no doubt still be around to buy new in 2029! The real vehicle is rather bulky and that is conveyed well here too, certainly more so than the Matchbox equivalent and whilst it lacks an interior of course it does enjoy full front and rear detailing.

New UK series Matchbox 2011 MINI Cooper Countryman in a very en trende pale grey colour. Mainline quality and detailing but to be fair to Tesco they haven't charged the same kind of premium over a basic in the same way UK retailers do with similar style Hot Wheels sets. Mint and boxed.
