The Mini Club of Calgary's 3rd Annual Meeting of the Minis. This is event gives us an excuse to get together when it's not so nice out, but is also the kick-off of our "Stuff-A-Mini" campaign which raises awareness and collects items for women and children in need who are transitioning out of domestic violence situations.
The first generation new Minis were introduced in 2001, with a 1999 personalised registration I had to look twice at this one.

I got a request to make a mini clawfoot tub for a customer. here's how it turned out. It's pretty awesome, In my opinion.
There were off and on thunderstorms today which I had been watching through my window while processing photos and stuff. I have been wanting to try to do some strobist work in the rain and decided to give it a shot when the next storm rolled through.
The rain wasn't as heavy as I wanted, and it died down once I got set up and backed my MINI out. I had to use the hose to spray more water into the shot and hope that the flash would bring out the droplets. This photo is comprised of 2 main images with the strobe on the left, then the right, but I compiled a few extra because the water would look better in certain spots each shot.
I don't believe this is a portfolio piece, but it is a building block in the overall learning process and something new I wanted to try. Hopefully this inspires someone else or something comes out of it.

-Vivitar 285hv 1/2 camera left and camera right. (bare strobe, large ziplock freezer bag over it to keep everything dry!)
This mini is awesome!! The covers are counter top samples from my local hardware store (recycle!!) and inside...well there's lots! I used the following to fill up this mini with 20+ pages that include:
~beautiful double sided card stock
~library cards
~paint samples
~cork (I know...cork!!!!)
~tags
~corrugated cardboard
All held together with a binder ring, so you can even add more pages to it.
I put a blank label on the front so you can fill in with whatever your heart desires; lists, notes, addresses or heart's desires, lol!!!
Would make a great little scrapbook, too!

I saw these tiny pies in someone's bento and had to give them a try. Simon loves cherries, so I made mini pies for his lunch!! I used too much juice from the canned cherries, so they overflowed.
