Check out this fabulous mini from Pink for Me! I don't know how she knew, but tea pots are perfect--my dining room is filled with my grandmother's teacups. So this is going up right above the cookbook shelf. She included a tissue holder and a note pad, too. THANK YOU--I just love it!
🇬🇧 The theme of the Dakar Rally holds me tight. This time I was inspired by the buggy of the Argentine racer Sebastián Halpern Dakar from the German X-raid Team. In some ways, I differed from the original to make creation fun for me, but the result is a beautiful essence. What do you think?
I really enjoy building economically and quickly. Some passages were really challenging. When I finished the inner tubular frame and found that a third spare wheel would fit in the space above the engine, I was completely excited. The buggy is very compact and packed with details that provide a really beautiful space on this scale.

🇨🇿 Téma Dakarské Rally se mne pevně drží. Tentokrát jsem se inspiroval buggynou argentického závodníka Sebastiana Halperna z německého týmu X-raid. V určitých ohledech jsem se od předlohy odlišil, aby pro mne bylo tvoření zábavou, ale výsledek je krásnou esencí. Co myslíte?
Moc mě baví stavět úsporně a svižně. Některé pasáže byly opravdu náročné. Když jsem dodělal vnitřní trubkový rám a zjistil, že se do prostoru nad motorem vleze ještě třetí náhrandí kolo, úplně jsem zajásal. Buggy je velmi kompaktní a nacpaná detaily, které v tomto měřítku poskytují opravdu krásný prostor.

When I saw the challenge was "mini" I immediately wanted to use some of the irresitably tiny sparkle clear stamps. But this little birdie was just crying out for a bit of fun, so his branch got extra long! Card size is 6 by 9.5cm- just look how big the cute letters look when the card is so mini!

Every halloween we attend a party at a friend's house--these parties are pretty over-the-top and there's usually a theme every year. I can be sure to not get home before 4:00am--and I'm lucky if I haven't puked on the lawn ;)
This year's theme was Cartoon/Animated characters. My choice just barely made the threshold: "1980 something space-guy" from the soon to be released Lego feature film. Technically, he has only appeared in a trailer to date--but hey, I wanted an excuse to make a mini-fig costume!
I made the torso from pre-finished blue cardboard and wood. I scaled up the dimensions of the minifig from engineering drawings found in the minifig patent application. The head is a heavily modified sorting bin branded product. The back/bottom were cutout, the interior lined with foam and apertures were cut for the eyes and mouth. The helmet was the most work. I literally carved it from scratch from laminations of extruded polystyrene foam bonded to a curved/formed cardboard sidewall. It took several passes of sanding/filling to get the shape right (making a massive mess in the process!). Lastly, the shoes were custom built boxes made from wood and cardboard.

The Austin Mini Countryman and sister Morris Mini Traveller were added to the Mini line up in 1961. Featuring twin barn style rear doors, both were built on a slightly longer chassis of 84 inch (2.14 m) compared to 80.25 inch (2.04 m) for the saloon. The luxury models had decorative, non-structural wood inserts in the rear body which gave the car a similar appearance to the larger Morris Minor Traveller Approximately 108,000 Austin Mini Countrymen and 99,000 Morris Mini Travellers were built.

Nathan Wilson's Honda B16a powered 1962 Austin Mini. Everything about this car is absolutely phenomenal. Nat has put all of his blood, sweat and tears into this lady and you can see it in every little detail. From the custom carbon fibre bonnet, boot and dash to shoe horning a B16a into the bay. To hear this thing on the road is just music to your ears!
This is a mini steamer for the microwave that I picked up at Daiso. It's sold as a steamer for meat buns, but it's just the right size for steaming small amounts of vegetables or dumplings for lunch -- speeds up cook time 50%. You put a tablespoon of water in the bottom, replace the steam tray on the bottom, put the veggies in, then cover (aligning the steam holes to allow venting). Nuke for 1-2 minutes and let it stand for a couple of minutes afterward to steam. It can also be used for storage if you twist the lid so that the steam release holes are not aligned. Another shot of the mini-supercell. This little gem was a complete surprise. It was on the back side of some high- precipitation storms that came through West Chester, PA on 14 May, 2010. The coloration in the clouds was actually MORE dramatic than this photo gives credit to - much brighter orange hues...
I made this mini snowman with the small amount of snow that had fallen, somewhere in February 2013.
