This was modelled after a few different cakes in the google image search for Minecraft Cake.
The cake used 4 packets of chocolate cake mix and three rounds of buttercream icing. Two rounds were made with cocoa, one round with green food colouring. For the extra 'dirty' look I added crushed oreos to the brown buttercream mix.
C4D render of a section of a world save from Minecraft. Experimental and VERY unfinished at this stage. Still awaiting a lot of material reassignment.
These models were exported from Minecraft, using the freeware tool Mineways and printed on a Zprinter 650. The pictures show several steps of the process of taking the models out of the printer and depowdering them.
These models will be shown saturday 21st of january 2012 at a small exhibition/science-/art-fair at a local school, as all models were created by pupils. The creators are about 12 to 14 years old.
It's the Minecraft Ore texture created in the Filter Forge plugin. It can be seamless tiled and rendered in any resolution without loosing details.

The main entrance to my DF-inspired Minecraft fort. The 'porch' area drops into a pool of lava when a lever on the other side of the door is pulled. Also, there's a button inside that fires a flaming arrow across the porch.
