Mindjet customer, Randy Shearer, is using MindManager to map both his business plans and fundraising efforts for Operation Outreach Malawi, Africa. This non-profit is raising money for critical issues facing a small village within Malawi called Kapunula.

Statistics show 2 out of 5 children in Kapunula and surrounding villages never make it to 5 years of age; Randy’s efforts are turning this problem around. Mindjet’s Melinda Venable has teamed up with Randy to create a PSA video about the cause and how the community can help.

Randy shares his success in nearby village, Hanoke, as proof that a little effort goes a long way. Operation Outreach Malawi was able to raise money for simple solutions like mosquito nets and water treatment, which help improve child mortality rates.

Mindjet will be sponsoring an upcoming fundraiser at the Keystorm Pub in Brockville Ontario, Canada on October 16th, with money generating going directly to the Kapunula tribe. If you’d like to know more, please email us at: customeradvocacy@mindjet.com.

I've been building a lot of web 2.0 websites lately. It gets hard to explain to people how all the pieces fit together, so I put together this diagram to explain the relationships a little better...

How to work towards a life to the full. This is a strategic, working document, and it is important that you should be able to download it and print it out. Please email me for a PDF or MindManager version if this jpg doesn't work well enough for you. There is a Slideshare version here: www.slideshare.net/Lexi_McKee/life-quotient-for-individua... and I intend to follow this up with a Screencast including audio IF there is sufficient interest - I need to hear from you!!

NEWSFLASH! I've just posted the associated audio version on Soundcloud: soundcloud.com/lex-mckee/life-can-get-better-and-better

When life is working well, here are your seven vital signs of life:

•You are purposefully moving towards more of what you want in life, in such a way that you really feel a sense of momentum

•You have secured sufficient positive inputs that you feel energised and motivated on a daily basis

•You are leaving a legacy – your ideas are catching on, and others are beginning to take up the message

•You learn rapidly from mistakes, bounce back from setbacks, and move on (avoiding repeat errors of judgment)

•You are growing in knowledge, wisdom, and stature – and in favour with others

•You are giving back to your friends, family, community and country

•You are sensitive to those around you, and to the opportunities and threats present in your environment – responding to these thoughtfully, rather than with a knee-jerk reaction.

I believe with all my heart that this is a recipe for sustainable success and life satisfaction... but there's that word "action" buried in "satisfaction"!

Mind Manager's nice drag and drop invitations.

www.jerseyboyspodcast.com (aka Steve Holden with the microphone and my wife Christy is behind the camera) got to interview Frankie Valli during his recent trip to San Diego. His concert was awesome, and getting to meet/interview him was a true blessing. While you can't tell from the picture, my "questions" are a MindMap from MindManager. Only a geek would do that I think ...

Here's a map that I created with my phone and exported to Mindjet MindManager 8

On May 17, 2011 I was honored to present an Idea Mapping webinar for IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis). I was invited to be a guest presenter because my Idea Mapping book is one of the best sellers in their library of recommended reading. This webinar is now archived and available to view. IIBA has graciously given permission for non-IIBA members of the Idea Mapping audience to view this archived webinar.

A "7 Wonders of San Francisco" MindManager map created by Gaelen O'Connell, Mindjet's Customer Advocacy & PR Manager. Map was created for Mindjet's MindManager 7 product launch.

In 2 1/2 hours we were able to catch up on 10-15 years of history and plan the entire content for the conference. The Idea Map wasn’t anything fancy, but it did the trick. Next I came home and put a detailed version into MindManager so that I could turn it into a jpg and she could then share the plan with the rest of her colleagues.

Mindjet featured Features CBS Writer, Gloria Calderón Kellett in their May 2008 Newsletter.

With only a dozen entries in the drawing and 3 off sized business cards, did not think pulling out of a bowl was fair, so I threw them all up in the air and snagged one - it was hers!

This map is just a bit of fun, but hopefully gives you some sense of what Biggerplate is about, and what keeps us motivated and moving forward!

My workspace, mid-way through designing a hundred or so icons for Blue Demon Studio's "DarkConduit" project. Mine is a Packard Bell PC running Windows Vista; I'm down to just one monitor until I can afford to replace one which fried itself; my desk includes a variety of printouts from MindManager 7, as well as my pads of squared paper; lastly, I was partaking of orange juice that night.

This Idea Map is my template for creating my “To Do” list in a mind mapping format. I used Mindjet’s MindManager and added images to enhance my recall.

When my mind gets overwhelmed with everything I need to get done I find it very helpful to dump my brain into this map. As new “To Do’s” surface I add them to the map. As I complete tasks or when they are no longer necessary I remove them from the map.

If you run workshops, or facilitate brainstorming sessions, you will probably be familiar with one or several of these comments.
