A sanderling on the rocks at the Guzzle, North Grand Pre.

James, Ken, Leslie, Wendy and I went to the Platte river to see migrating sandhill cranes. On the way, we came across these snow geese instead. The math guy among us estimated there were at least 200,000 birds. I was glad I haven't watched Hitchcock's bird movie in a while.

Sandhill cranes, Payne's Prairie, Florida

I hear these guys flying overhead at night constantly. They stay pretty high, which is annoying if you're trying to get photos, this is about the lowest that I've seen them.

Looks like Great Blue Heron but this bird looks stocky and short legged.

I took tons of photos with my newish 70-200 2.8 and had lots of fun. The Gulls were hanging out with the migrating Double-crested Cormorants.

Will be posting too many of these. Hoped to get the Cormorants to come over, but all I got were some Gulls, two swans, and some Redheads.
