Mooresville, NC – Bryan Johnson drove his 1LE-DSE Equipped Camaro to Indiana this past weekend to compete in the Midwest Muscle Car Challenge at Putnam Park and Terre Haute and came away with the autocross shootout victory while Kyle Tucker in the DSE 1970 Camaro Test Car won the 1981 and earlier autocross.

What a fantastic weekend for the racing at Putnam Park for the road course portion of the event and the Terre Haute International Airport for the autocross racing. Friday at Putnam was the start of the action with lots of road course racing. The great thing about this event is that it was broken down into different driver classes with 10/10th Motorsports around all weekend giving instruction to some of the newcomers at the event.

It was a three way chase for the top spot all weekend on the road course and autocross as Bryan Johnson and Kyle Tucker chased Danny Popp. At the end of the weekend Bryan won the autocross shoot out when Danny Popp tipped a cone on an otherwise perfect run. Kyle was able to secure the top time in the 1981 and earlier autocross and made the top five overall shoot out.

Thanks to Mark and Jessie of Bowler Performance Transmissions for another great weekend at the Midwest Musclecar Challenge and we look forward to seeing everyone and competing next year. Next up for Detroit Speed is the Goodguys Nashville show May 16th-18th at LP field in Nashville, TN. We hope to see everyone out there!

Also, watch for a new and improved DSE 1969 Camaro. Stacy Tucker is doing fine and appreciates everyone's concern.

What were you doing this week in 2014? With the 2018 Midwest Musclecar Challenge starting tomorrow, we decided to throw back to 2014, when we had the good fortune to meet our friend Aaron Oberle and shoot his incredible 1965 Chevelle. Aaron hasn’t been feeling too good lately, so join us for a glimpse back to healthier times, as we look forward to better times ahead -- after Aaron is finished kicking cancer’s ass! This Chevelle has recently received some MAJOR upgrades (including a MAST Motorsports Black Label LS3, complete custom Oberle-engineered chassis, Ron Sutton suspension, and StopTech brakes), but back in 2014, it was powered by a 400HP LS1 and rode on ABC Performance suspension, RideTech coilovers, Kore3 Corvette brakes, and 18-inch Forgeline RB3C wheels finished with Satin Gunmetal centers and Brushed outers!

Billy Utley had his incredible B&B Classics ’72 Nova (aka: “Nancy”), at last weekend’s 2016 Midwest Musclecar Challenge. This beauty is powered by a 580HP 416ci L99 mated to a Bowler T-56 transmission and rides on Detroit Speed suspension, JRi coilovers, Bridgestone Potenza tires (265/35R18 & 285/35R19), and Forgeline Heritage Series FF3 wheels finished with Satin Gunmetal centers and Gloss Gunmetal outers. Growing up with a fast driver dad, like Danny Popp, is it any surprise that Nathan Popp would end up at the track too? His Raft-tuned C5 Corvette Z06 rides on JRi shocks and 275/35ZR18 & 315/30ZR18 BFGoodrich Rival S tires on 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 Forgeline GA3R wheels finished with Ball Polished centers and Polished outers!
