A nice picture of the wife taken on midsummer eve when we were out on our boat. Our little strange city decided to move the celebration a day based on the weather forecast. Nice of them. We had a wonderful evening out on the boat.
This picture from the Ektar 100 roll gave me some comfort after a somewhat humiliating and depressive analog week. I was trying to get acceptable focus from my 6x9 folders - fail... But I hoped and trusted I would get good pictures from my Nikon FT3. I got a few keepers but also experienced that my exposure was all over the place, my manual focus abilities were not that good (I will have to use my F100 more with autofocus)

This midsummer seascape was taken just after sunset during the golden hour in the Uusikaupunki archipelago, Finland. On the day of the photo, the day was the longest of the year, with daylight hours reaching 19 h 12 min. Despite this, it feels as if summer hasn't even started yet. The beginning of summer has been unusually chilly here, with a lot of rain. Hopefully, things will change as we head towards the dark evenings (A7R7678-1e).

It's so beautiful driving by all the lupins by the fjord here in Olden this time of year.
But this large-leaved lupine/ garden lupin (Lupinus polyphyllus) is originally native to western North America, and was brought to Britain in the 1820s.
From there, it spread to the rest of Europe as a garden plant. Now it has spread throughout our long country as well, and since 2016 it is forbidden to plant lupins in Norway.

Leaving late after post film fest screening and drink, paused on crossing outside cinema - it was after half past eleven at night on midsummer day, and in Scotland that means the northern sky simply doesn't go dark, it retains this incredibly, deep glow for the few brief hours of night then the early summer dawn rises hot on the heels of the late sunset.
No tripod as had been in cinema, so sat camera on timer mode on a railing on the crossing and hoped. This is looking down Lothian Road towards Princes Street, just wanted to capture a little of that light quality we get here late at night in summer.

Very frustrated at the lack of opportunities for sunrises at the moment so I thought I'd share one from the earliest I've ever dragged myself out of bed for a photograph. I think I got up at around 3:30am for this shot. (yes I know the 3rd of July wasn't quite midsummer but it's close enough for me) Best on black (Press L). Press F to favorite and C to comment.

When I saw the lady of the parasol walking in the sunflower field, I felt like an Impressionist painter who came to southern France.
These last two days of our holiday in Stryn have been really beautiful, and our cameras are filled with lots of photos of the stunning landscapes- with mountains, rivers, lakes, fjords, summer flowers and mirror reflections of them all.
This one is from today, on the day we celebrate midsummer/Saint John's Eve in Norway. We will only have a little celebration for two- with traditional grilling and snack, and maybe watch a local bonfire.

So strong -colored sunsets have been rare this summer. Midsummer sunset 25.6 was really beautiful and i’m glad i was there.
