Whoever comes to the Istituto Linguistico Mediterraneo, arrives bringing with them their own color and their own way of living life and when they return home they bring with them a bit 'of color from all the people they have met. We are not from Italy, or Spain, or Japan, neither from Israel, or America, or Europe, neither from Africa, or Brazil or Uruguay... We are a family ... Yesterday we mixed all our colors in a party the craziest ever seen. Balloons, fancy dresses, colorful cocktails, soap bubbles and of course many colors... your colours... our colors...
#ColorParty #ColorFest #MidsummerParty #VeryILMpeople #ILMconnectingPeople

It was a rainy midsummer but I managed to get this photoshoot of Samelia doing some midsummer magic and lighting a bonfire. Sun even started shining after 10pm which was nice.
Midsummer's Eve on June 23, it is daylight throughout the night in our part of Norway. The trolls do not like light and they hate the sun. In my old loghouse "Fritsvold" in the valley Gudbrandsdalen we were visited twice by the trolls. Our children were hiding and drew blanket over their heads even if they had heard in fairytales that the two-headed and ugly trolls are stupid and harmless creatures.
Location: Forset in West Gausdal outside the town of Lillehammer.

Wonderful variety of midsummer colors and textures in bedding area near the Visitor Center at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. This was taken on a day out with all four grandchildren.
I'm still working to get back to normal after power surge about two weeks ago. Determined today that all external drives with photos on them, including backup drives, survived; AC power source for one is dead, but with new transformer, the drive works and photos are there -- big relief. Checking things, shopping for replacements for ruined items, insurance, etc., have occupied a good bit of time lately. I hope to get back on Flickr more regularly, soon,

Långdans och ringlekar helt enligt traditionen. Ovanlig mycket folk troligen beroende på bra väder.
All kinds of traditional dancing and more people than usual, probably because of the good weather.

Just a few seconds of traditional Swedish folk dance. From the Midsummer celebrations in Tungelsta today.

The Sorunda Midsummer Pole is very different from a traditional Swedish Midsummer Pole. It is decorated with a few different symbols, including hollow eggs for good future fertility!. And also with Lily-of-the-valley leafs that are picked ten days before Midsummer. I visited the traditional celebrations at Prästgårdsparken today and took photos of the raising of the Midsummer Pole and of the traditional dancing.
Young chaffinches are rather tame and it's easier to get close to them than to the adults. This one gave me quite a pose.
Delighted to be back on Flickr and I look forward to visiting all your streams. It will take me a few days to catch up with everybody but I will get there. Thanks to those of you who contacted me - had concerns that distracted me from photography but those issues have now been resolved.
