Autumn is a time for letting go and releasing things that have been a burden throughout the year. As the trees around us begin to lose their leaf, I am reminded that nature's cycles are mirrored in my own life. It's definitely a time to lay those burdens down.

For me, delving into an inner city is also a journey inward. No matter how deep I dive, I always find myself staring back. Often portrayed by our emeritus politicians as a land full of invasive species, I actually find I am the invader here, full of judgmental thoughts and opinions that wreak havoc on a fragile environment, where so many have lost connection and are struggling to survive. I've always been moved by the simple words on the title page of E.M Forster's novel "Howards End:" "Only connect..."
If only we could.
