Midday view of Svalbard's Ekmanfjord and surrounding mountains. There is still a bit of sea ice in the fjord, which will ultimately disappear later in the summer.

Taken at Ricketts Glen, love the way the sun hit the water to bring out the golden color. Every time it rains heavy the water at Ricketts Glen gets a golden hue to it. Taken with a 6 stop filter.
The middle of the day is often not the best time for photography, but on the upside, it is also a time when the buzzards and other birds of prey seem to like to hunt. It would be easy enough to photoshop one in of course, but for the record, this one's real!
Just an experiment using some of the filters in Nik Color Efex to turn a bright midday(ish) into something that looks like a warm sunset looking image.
as it was taken, I decided to keep the blue cast, sort of gave it a moonlit feel :)

Like the blind we grope along the wall, feeling our way like men without eyes. At midday we stumble as if it were twilight; among the strong, we are like the dead.
The sun was very hazy and gave the sky a golden colour. Another cold day (-8 C this morning) but still a lovely walk.

Often try to get early morning or late afternoon photos of this tree but I don't mind this midday shot.
It looks like fog but in fact it is a midday haze on a bright sunny day in March after exceptionally warm and dry start of spring. It did however create a pleasant tonal contrast between the rows of naked trees and urban landscape vanishing behind. Taken from Primrose Hill. Bath, BANES, England, UK
