#Equity benchmarks witnessed a strong trading session, with the Nifty closing above 9800-mark for the second consecutive session. In fact, it closed at kissing distance from 9900-mark. The #Sensex closed up 232.56 points at 32037.38, while the #Nifty ended 75.60 points higher at 9891.70. The market breadth was narrow as 1,287 shares advanced against a decline of 1,432 shares, while 163 shares were unchanged. #Midcaps continued to trade steady, while FMCG and banks boosted the indices. ITC, Bharti Airtel and Yes Bank gained the most on both indices, while ONGC, Asian Paints and IOC lost the most.

Indian shares opened marginally higher on Thursday, however the gains were erased to trade flat led by losses in HDFC, ITC and Kotak Mahindra Bank. Nevertheless, losses were capped, as Airtel, Infosys and Sun Pharma witnessed buying interest. #Sensex was down by 12 points at 33,575 and the #Nifty traded 13 points higher at 10,355. The BSE #Midcap and BSE #Smallcap Index are trading marginally lower at 16,788 and 17,932 respectively . Among the Nifty50 Index, Bharti Infratel was the top gainer, up 2%, followed by Eicher Motors, Sun Pharma, IndusInd Bank and UPL, which gained between 1-0.9% each. Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Lupin and Hero MotoCorp were the other major gainers, whereas Dr.Reddy’s, Asian Paints, Kotak Mahindra and UltraTech were the losers in the #Nifty50 Index.

Opening Bell : Equity benchmarks were marginally higher in morning trade with the Nifty reclaiming 8800 level ahead of outcome of Federal Reserve's two-day policy meeting later today. The 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex was up 64.01 points at 28587.21 and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 23.10 points at 8799 while the broader markets outperformed benchmarks. The BSE Midcap index rose 0.4 percent and Smallcap was up 0.7 percent on positive breadth. About 1427 shares advanced against 592 declining shares on the BSE. Bharti Infratel, Hindalco, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors (D) and Eicher Motors are the top gainers, while TechMahindra, UltraTechCement, ICICI Bank, Zee Entertain and Cipla are the top losers today. In Asian Market, Japan's index Nikkei is trading up with the hike of 1.73% and Hong Kong's index is Heng Seng is trading with the profit of 0.60%.

The market declined marginally on profit booking in healthcare, technology and telecom stocks. Index heavyweights Reliance Industries and HDFC also saw selling pressure. However, banks stocks bucked the trend.

Infosys topped the selling list on Sensex, down 2.6 percent followed by TCS, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hero Motocorp, Coal India and Sesa Sterlite with 1-2 percent losses.

After witnessing a strong pullback in the opening tick and in the hours to follow, benchmark indices erased all of the gains in the final hour of trade on Friday. Sensex and Nifty ended almost on a flat note. The #Sensex closed up 1.24 points at 31283.72, while the #Nifty was up 19.65 points at 9788.60. The market breadth was positive as 1611 shares advanced against a decline of 899 shares, while 172 shares were unchanged. #Midcaps had a strong day of trade, while barring IT and FMCG, all sectoral indices ended flat to positive. Bajaj Auto, Adani Ports, GAIL and Eicher Motors gained the most on both indices, while HUL and Wipro were the top losers.

Nifty hits 8050; Sensex, midcap, smallcap rally; Hero up 2%

  

The broader markets outperformed benchmarks with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gaining 1 percent and 1.8 percent, respectively. About four shares advanced for every share declining on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

  

Equity benchmarks rebounded smartly with the Sensex rising 210.31 points to 26841.60 and the Nifty advancing 65.15 points to 8040.65 supported by broadbased rally. The broader markets outperformed benchmarks with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gaining 1 percent and 1.8 percent, respectively. About four shares advanced for every share declining on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Shares of Reliance Industries, ITC, HDFC, Larsen and Toubro, Sun Pharma, ONGC, Hero Motocorp, Dr Reddy's Labs, Wipro and Maruti Suzuki rallied 1-2 percent followed by ITC, ICICI Bank and SBI with 0.8 percent gain.

American and Asian markets are getting negative signals from the beginning of the Sensex and Nifty have declined. Sensex and Nifty is down 0.10 %. Midcap and smallcap stocks on NSE shopping environment remains today. Metal in today’s business, infrastructure and realty indices have risen by half % The BSE 30-stock index, Sensex down 20 points to 25 837 level. However, the Nifty slipped 15 points to 7857 levels.
