... We will come and go, in the forest

In the summer rain, we will meet again

We will learn the code of the ancient ones

In the forest ...

Maryland Heights is the perfect vantage for an autumn glimpse into history at Harper's Ferry, WV.

A Japanese Cypress forest on the Azores island of Faial with its unique colours and alluring smells. There are only very few places outside of Japan and China, were Japanese Cypress has been cultivated and the Azores are one of such places. The forest lies near to the crater of an extinct volcano and an excursion along those parts is of incredible appeal. I posted this today since I thought it to be the most amazing contrast to the previous forest in Norway, which was also shot on a December day another year. To see the difference of seasons with both places being in the Atlantic was quite interesting.

Hedges as natural, living fences are to be seen everywhere on the Azores islands criss-crossing the countryside, parcelling the land. I like this way of defining borders very much since it is so organic and melts so well back into the landscape.

Happy Fence Friday!

At the Silver Diner, every wall covered with a retro mural.

So many things to photograph. And the food is healthy, fresh and delicious. There are a number of others in this chain in the midAtlantic states. so if you see one, go in!

It was shot decades ago but has been recently resized using Topaz AI gigapixel - looks good or even better than my original. It's fun being strangled at home. A good example of social distancing

I found this wonderful tulip at the Rawlings Conservatory and Botantical Gardens in Baltimore, Maryland. The tulips are in full bloom there now!

With fading evening light, I wanted to capture the brilliant fall colors against the grey stone and rocks.

There is a wonderful little farm (that is now a park), not too far from my house and it is even more picturesque after a winter snowstorm. I took this shot a little over a month ago when the final snowstorm of the season came through our neck of the woods.

Built in 1902, this reinforced concrete arch bridge is in the Rock Creek Park Historic District; and was add to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

A storm at mid Atlantic. Scenario - very rough weather . Movements restricted . Its impossible to stabilize the camera even with tripods because the Ship Rolls continuously. Still tried..

Amongst the various bits and pieces (from the left) were a pair of Hawker-Siddeley Doves sandwiching an unknown fuselage, plus to the right an orange Sikorsky UH-34J Seahorse, BuAerNo.145712 and an 'MY' coded Piasecki H-21B Shawnee, 53-4367

Behind them are what looks like a three or four P-2 Neptune engines and between the trees a tantalising glimpse of more and I wonder what was hiding in those Containers?

Cape May is a city and seaside resort at the tip of southern New Jersey’s Cape May Peninsula. It’s known for grand Victorian houses.

Although they’re numerous and familiar in city parks and in bays and lakes in the Pacific Northwest, Great Lakes, Northeast, and Midatlantic, Mute Swans are not native to North America.

The Rawlings Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Baltimore, Maryland, is a wonderful place to visit. The architecture on the outside is just as fantastic as the flowers and plants on the inside.
