In this video I demonstrate how the new Microscan MINI Hawk imager decodes Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) at high speed.
I used two IMBs: one printed on white paper, and one printed on yellow paper read thru an envelop window.
The two IMBs are rotating on a circle of 3.75" radius at more than the displayed speed of 107 ips which is calibrated for a circle of 3.25" radius. This is the maximum speed of the display used for this demo. Faster speed can be achieved.

Microscan microbroth dilution plate for antibiotic sensitivity testing. Bacterial suspension and broth are added to the wells of the plate to rehydrate antibiotic compounds in various concentrations. The presence or absence of growth in each well after incubation allows the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration or M.I.C. of each antibiotic tested to be calculated

When this was written, data matrix codes (as opposed to bar codes) were just coming online. The purpose of the paper is to educate potential customers about the new symbology and why it's worth switching from conventional bar codes/scanners to dot matrix symbologies and scanners.

Twenty five to 35% of our Sauvignon Blanc is fermented without inoculation each year; inevitably, these tend to be our favorite lots. Last year, we had a non-inoculated tank that was so outstanding that we now maintain a proprietary strain. We currently have a 12,000 gallon tank of Slusser SB smelling of peaches and passionfruit, thanks to beautifully ripened grapes and the HANNA Yeast!
