Surface mount chip debilitated by neglected removal of mounting tab on notebook CD drive before insertion into external enclosure. Pencil tip shows scale.
From a Planet network switch. The fan was a bit noisy so I removed it. Three years later the power supply couldn't take the heat no more.
i can excuse the 2mm jumpers (none of which were included), bad spelling, and hand soldering. but a dead short from output to VDD sort of implies that this $60 dev board wasn't tested! :(
maybe they need some pogo pins?

very low-profile! special adapter that does not stick out very far from the edge. the sd-card adapters that normally are used come free with micro-sd cards but given a choice, I do think I like this one better.
