Optigans are ugly in the back. In front , the MRS-1608. Great unit to program drums and bass and looped samples! Heckuva unit. The BASS and kickdrums/toms thump deep!
cheese & chocolate fondu, the shining, microkorg & drumming, arrested development, tickle wars, pushing daises. quite the wednesday night.
Making this song started with this drum beat that I thought was real cool. I also thought of writing it like a nice dream that builds into a nightmare.
The phrase "in the guise of words" was inspired by this Instagram post:

The phrase "Everyone dies eventually. Act accordingly." in the prechorus is a line from the movie The Departed.
Thanks for listening!

LYRICS:
We are the stories we sell.
We are the lies we make and tell.
We are the tears that fill wells.
We are the horses where we fell from.
We are the blood that we shed.
We are the lives that we have led.
We are the praises that we said.
We are the put-downs that made them dead.
Everyone dies eventually. Act accordingly.
I know my time is getting shorter.
My words may last a li'l bit longer.
(I'll be back in the guise of words.)
I know time is getting shorter.
Nothing really lasts forever.
(I'll be back disguised as words.)
We are the corners we turn.
We are the bridges we burn.
We are the promises we keep and break.
We are the punches we give and take.

Korg, I love MicroKorg. It's easter. For everyone wondering I gained a certain 79% oh on just an exam about the cardiovascular system.
This was in spite of all my tinkering and tweaking of the synth. See the menus. Methodically going through them all to mould the oscillators into what I want to say has a certain therapeutic value. I had to have something to show for it in at the end of it all or else it would have been a COMPLETE waste of time. Well.. not really.

After spending most of my time home on the phone with Jes, I decided I should mess around with my music gear for a little while. So I broke out the ever fun MicroKorg and tooled around for some time. Then I thought I would try out Adobe Lightroom for processing my raw files, well... it was nice untul it crashed everytime I tried to save a file.
I'll stick with photoshop for now.
But back to my MK. This is one of my favorite pieces of gear next to the PadKontrol, I can make new patches and sit around just playing with it for hours.
To give an example, I had this loaded with the following:
BOTTOM SECTION:
Nord Electro 2 73-key
Korg Kaoss Pad
Compressor Pedal
MIDDLE RACKS:
Furman Power Strip
MOTU 828mkii
Line 6 Rack Delay (Echo Pro)
Line 6 Rack Modulation (Mod Pro)
Limiting Amplifier
MOTU MIDI Interface
TOP SURFACE:
Korg MicroKORG
Korg MicroKONTROL
MoogerFooger Analog Delay
All necessary DIs and a Laptop Stand
