Controversial British graffiti artist BANKSY has made fun of MICHAEL JACKSON in a new drawing which went on exhibition in London yesterday (01DEC06).

Banksy's drawing is inspired by classic children's tale HANSEL AND GRETEL and features Jackson, who was acquitted of child molestation last year (05), crouching in the doorway of a cottage holding out a sweet (candy) to a young girl and boy.

The shock artist - famed for doctoring 500 copies of PARIS HILTON's debut album PARIS - says, "I feel the spirit of Christmas was being lost. It was becoming increasingly uncommercialised more and more."

His Jackson drawing is displayed in Santa's Grotto, which is exhibiting graffiti, art and sculpture.

HAHA! nice try

Michael Jackson [1942-2007]

"was fundamentally an ethnographer. He wasn't a brewer and he wasn't an historian. He called himself a journalist, but his biggest contribution was understanding beer in the context of the culture in which it was brewed.

He might have approached beer from the sensory perspective, as much wine writing does, or he could have gone out to breweries and described the beer they made, like a simple journalist. Instead, he did this: [...] Jackson situated beer in a place. He demonstrated how it was an expression of the culture of the people who made it. [...]

The thing that fueled the American brewing revival was how people fell in love with beer, and Jackson's culture-rich writing was one of the main vectors of that romance. [...]

Jackson got some things wrong in 1977. This indicates not shoddy work, but old work. What's remarkable is, after forty years, how much still stands up."

My album cover contest has come to a close and the scores have been tallied. Contestants received a half point for each artist correctly identified and a half point for each album, making the highest possible score 55 points.

And the winner is... Raul Gutierrez!

Combining his own considerable musical knowledge with that of several friends, as well as incorporating some clever cyber-sleuthing techniques, Raul was able to at least partially identify a whopping forty-four of the fifty-five album covers for a total of 41 points.

I will be creating a song for Raul, tailored to the topic of his choice. It remains to be seen if this prize makes him a lucky winner.

The end of the 'BAD' video. The settings on the camera weren't right when I took this shot, I was trying to find a way to make it look a little less bright on the left side of his face, but then I turned it to black and white and I really liked the way that this shot turned out and I just had to upload it.

Another shot from the 'BAD' video. I didn't edit it a lot, all I really did was darken it down a bit to try and get it as focused on him as much possible and to make the guys behind him less noticeable. And I cropped it a little bit so there would be less of my phone screen in the picture.

I love that face so much! It's like,"Get outta my face before I do something that both of us are gonna regret...." either that or "who's bad?"

meg got me this awesome cookie from the new cookie joint on franklin ave.

Michael Jackson with my friends Jack Viviani and Don Liggett. Photo taken at night around the pool area at the Kahala Hilton Hotel, early February 1988. Michael was super nice to all of us and we spent about 15 minutes with him.

This was four years after Michael's scalp was burned during the filming of a Pepsi commercial, two years after he was diagnosd with vitiligo, a skin condition, one month before he finalized the purchase of the land that would become Neverland, and four months before he began sexually molesting Safechuck according to the documentary Leaving Neverland.

By the way, I have seen the HBO documentary Leaving Neverland and I believe Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck. Others feel differently.

Scanned from the original 35MM film negative.
