Absolutely Perfect Tampa Bay Florida Sunset Sky At Blessed Home During Birthday Week - IMRAN™ (SOOC)
It was early summer, the week of my birthday this year, when I captured this breathtaking sunset photo at my blessed home in Apollo Beach, Florida. A near-perfect sunset sky showed every magical shade of red, yellow, gold, and orange, from edge to edge. I am sharing this with you without a single bit of editing or any processing or any filter of any kind at all. SOOC (straight out of camera) from the handheld 14-years old Nikon D300, with my name added and shared here. Another of a million moments of gratitude.

I think I felt compelled to make this because I've been in such a weird state of mind lately, like.
I've been remembering my dreams a lot more than usual, probably because I've been waking up more than usual (I have this problem where I sleep on top of my arms and they lose feeling so then I wake up and flop around for a while like a fish until they come back online, like at least twice a night...it's kind of painful, actually. It's an issue. Anyways.) It just gets me thinking since I love remembering dreams probably because they're so brief and impossible and kind of meaningless, kind of like life. **wooOooOo*. But really like, I've been developing this thing where I can't justify buying things or eating things if they're not completely necessary (or just really rad. Chocolate cake here's lookin at you kid), because material things are so transient. Like dreams. Full circle, wutt. And I think my mindset's good, in a way, because it's not real wasteful I guess, but at the same time I think there's a certain importance of enjoying those transient things because like, we don't know the point of all this living and shit, so maybe we are meant to enjoy everything that's fleeting and meaningless.
Swear to god I'm not high, I think my brain just always looks like that fried egg in those infomercials about brains on drugs :L
~~The ocean's from Oregon, again; been skulking through them albums lately if it isn't pretty obvious. And if the added me looks familiar then I owe you a big thank you for following me for so long :) it's one of the outtakes from this photo from a while back. This is one of those one-in-a-million moments when my photo-hoarding actually paid off, and I'm loving it so much. Except now this is just reinforcing my belief that I can never ever delete a photo ever, so...not going to think about it.
Sorry for the mind-vomit, as always. But I don't think I am sorry so sorry I'm not sorry. Happy Thirstday. Drank up and all that. Water, a course. Winkz*
Nehh neh, love y'all, be safe, be tru, be u <3
No one told me that moving 22 miles would require a million moments, each feeling like a separate trap. Thus the partial quote from Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
We’re coming up on ONE MILLION photos shared in Flickr Social, and we want to celebrate with you!

What if I drop at this very spot,
be it the pavement, or a soft bed,
would anybody notice,
would anybody come to pick me up?
What is life but a continuous fall
what is relations but a safety net,
what is religion but a thought of flying,
what is belief but a set of wings.
And near the end everything is clear,
but i must have died a million times
because for a million moments
everything is clear to me.
Maybe I am only dreaming
a sleep without exits,
blind, deaf and mute,
only fingers and a heart.
Funny isn't it,
how we invite life
and no guests arrive at all.
It must be my luck.
Do you know the secret?
Tell me, if you do.
Nothing seems strange to me
but everyday life.
And if you read this you know
it is automatic writing
for automatic people
with a breath of the divine.
Then you know the secret.
It is a million photos,
crazy paper birds
swarming round you
hit down by the rain of time.
For Mona
With you
Each and everyday is a bonus -
Whether it be for one moment,
One day or a million moments.
Being with you makes me
Feel new and bright.
Being able to be just us.
With you we both create
A wealth of warmth
Rising from our hearts.
A happy atmosphere of love.
Each and everyday is a bonus.
I feel lucky and alive.
You fill me with youth
And masses and masses of
Tender loving care.
I treasure every moment with you.
Thank you for coming into my life.

On a transatlantic flight today I was editing some recent photos on my laptop and wondering how this obsession with photography manifested. I finished my photos from the weekend and closed the laptop trying to figure out how to pass a couple hours before landing in Chicago for a connection.
A couple of years ago a friend asked me if I had ever read Kurt Vonnegut, which I replied I hadn't. He was shocked that I hadn't.
I have a hard time finding affordable books in English in Frankfurt. So sometimes when i travel I come back with books, or magazines, or videogames in English. Recently I purchased slaughterhouse 5 while in Nottingham on business. I wasn't searching for it, but his name popped into my head and I sought out a book by him.
In it I read a quote from a book by Erika Ostrovsky called Celine and His Vision. Vonnegut describes the story of Celine:
"Celine was a brave soldier in the First World War -- until his skull was cracked. After that he couldn't sleep, and there were noises in his head. He became a doctor, and he treated poor people in the daytime, and he wrote grotesque novels all night. No art is possible without a dance with death, he wrote."
So there I sat 35,000ft in the air, realizing I just found the answer to the past couple of years. I accepted the fact that I take photos of momentary fleeting glimpses of beauty, history which we haven't stupidly destroyed with bombs and war, and random alignments of chaos around us everyday.
I almost never got the chance to see the things I get to see now. I don't want to forget. I have passed a million moments like these on my way to this point and I have forgotten so many of them because they simply weren't important enough, or my brain forgets them, so I am not complacent with my memories and try to find more. Hopefully I can catch some of the ones that haven't happened yet.
Everything happens when it is supposed to.
I finally started reading Vonnegut. Even if it was that quote from another author's book, it happened when it was supposed to. However, that is a moment I can't capture in a photo.
I finished slaughterhouse 5.
Thanks, John.

We all shoot pictures , as we see them first with our eyes and than magnified through our camera vision.
I shot this fast because Tom and Jerry are the two best friends of my grand daughter Marziya, she is a child hooked on Cartoon Network and You Tube..
You Tube is her instruction manual for life as poetry.. she will wait for me to play her favorite nursery rhymes.
At 2 and a half years she tells me Grand Pa put YouTube..
Her favorite nowadays is the Clinic commercial Chulbuli.
So I shot this child and added text to a vacuous moment of a street scene.
I shot a moment as I saw it and they are million moments vying for attention and I have selectively as a poet shot a few and bought it at your door step.
Street Photography is what keeps my camera alive not allowing it to rust , I am sorry I cant shoot what you shoot I dont have your vision.
Last evening near my workplace I saw a man asleep , I dont know if he was a drunk, or drugged but I kept shooting several frames as people touched him with their shoes and walked by.. I was shooting Humanity one that was asleep the other awake.
People wondered why I was shooting this but such is life , through the camera lens you see truth as it exists raw bare and vulnerable.
So street photography is shooting realism, shooting bare necessities of life on the mean streets of your town or city.
For me this is poetry shooting man on the street.
I have come across men drunk naked on the street but did not shoot them , knowing well that Flickr where I post all my stuff with its robotic inhuman censorious mind would label it porn..and I dont want to shadow box with the Devils advocate Terence.
So I shoot simple pictures simple situations I enjoy aesthetic nudes women and they inspire me no less .
My heart goes out to Kelly Rae who is a great photographer , intuitive cultured , and I dont know why she wants to delete her Flickr account , I have requested her not too.
I hate any good photographer leaving Flickr or Facebook..
Good photographers are good ambassadors of a web site and add to its popularity..but free membership on Flickr and a Nelsons eye to pornographers has made my life miserable on Flickr too..
People who dont read my Flickr profile and add me as one side contacts with the dirtiest and filthiest pictures on their photo stream and among their favorites , I have nothing against what you like or what you shoot but dont make me swallow what I dont like.
I have blocked over 375 people at Flickr for this particular reason.
I think Flickr management should take this issue seriously it is a malady that touches everyone instead of going after creative photographers with a biased attitude.
And I promote both Flickr and Facebook..
With 14250 links on Facebook about 80% are Flickr links.
Yes I pimp my Flickr blogs at Facebook and Twitter too.
I know a lot of good people have joined Flickr because of me.

- from this e-book. Which was just a trial of a very cool app called Million Moments. It picks photos from any folder on your phone (in this case - my Instagram feed) and creates these neat books. A pity only separate pages can be shared and not the entire book (or there may be a way, I'll find out)... Endless fun with these phones, isn't it? :)
I've been watchin' all of my past repeatin'
There's no endin', and when I stop pretendin'
See you standin', a million moments landin'
On your smile, buried alive, I could have
Die to stay there, never have to leave there
Everything is raw between now and the next darkness, the real weight of overcast clouds coming down. The streetlights are like angler fish in the deep, dangling a little brightness to lift me on a heavy evening. My mood depends on light and weather, the drama or dullness of reality overtaking imagination. There's a knife edge of beauty that I'm walking, digging in my heels. There's a highly specific, intensely desperate moment of emotion, and unless I trip across it, a photograph is pointless. The world needs no more half-hearted additions, no passion hidden, no minimum-effort creation. I keep coming up grey while dreaming of colour, but I know I'll never change. There's an incredible peace between the chaos, that's the eye of the storm blinking brightly. A million moments of anxiety slowly cut me to these thin slivers of frantic calm. I blink once, and I'm gone.

Sheepherder Cairn Moon Rise (Caught ol Luna taking a break) 😜
This 96 Percent illuminated lunar has learned it is a lot of work to move all that cheese to the zenith of it’s orbit around the earth. . Taking too long will upset all the tidal charts that mariners use for sailing. This little rock pile is one of several Sheepherders Cairns in the area I’m aware of.
I find that the moon is a lazy celestial object. Always sitting down on the job. Here I caught the sneaky planetoid JUST lifting off the “Rock Recliner” it was sitting on. Who knows how long it was sitting there. I mean it only moved after I pointed a camera at it… I catch the old guy resting on unusual things all the time walking parallel Ridges on the moon shadow line.
Missed are a million moments in time depending on the angle you find yourself observing a particular scene at. Every different angle will give you an entirely different viewpoint. I’m always looking at angles and what I have to do to achieve the perspective I’m looking for. The ability to anticipate the way things WILL happen and being there with a camera in your hand is about 100 percent of the photography game. The rest of getting the photo is reliant of your positioning before that time/space moment. My biggest limiting factor besides gravity is topography. Can’t stand with no ground under.
As this moon is rising, I have to walk closer to the hill to keep the perspective. If I move forward about 20 feet, you can’t see the moon for the rocks Also If I move back 20 feet I’m suspended in mid air levitating above a 20 foot deep gully next to the path. It’s the ground I am actually standing on lol. I wonder how many photographers have walked a little more back, a little more, and more. Only to find out that there wasn’t any ground there.

Moon Detained Rolling Downhill
Satire: The forest is full of a million moments of time and space. Different moments and different angles each contribute to what a camera can save for our amusement. It’s a matter of being in the right place at the right time to see the play go on stage.
Here the moon had found a nice place to slowly roll down hill but alas, a young “ent” (ish) tree has stopped it’s progression. The moon seeing it had no other way had to climb up the sky to evade and escape the clutches of the local clan of “Ents”. Thank heavens it didn’t hold up the moon very long as there are so many things that rely on precise timing of the moon and the tides. 😃 Think of the mess up if even one of those trees get’s their way.🤔🤔
Back to my normal programming:
Of course there are other phenomena related to the full moon besides photographers making up satire. Emergency rooms get busy on full moon nights. I worked as a medic for 20 years total and I give some credence to that discussion. I’ve seen some crazy stuff on full moon nights. They say that dogs are 28 percent more likely to be taken on an ER vet visit during the full moon. Birth Rates go up (don’t ask me! I learned what caused that crap early on). More Crimes are committed (FBI stats), Amazingly and last in this short list is that during a full moon is a better time to have surgery. The outcome statistically is better during the full moon. I don’t ask why. I just go with the flow….

Backcountry Moon Cradle:
I find that the moon is a lazy celestial object. Always sitting down on the job. Here I caught the sneaky planetoid JUST lifting off the “snag” cradle it was sitting on. Who knows how long it was sitting there. I mean it only moved after I pointed a camera at it… I catch the old guy resting on unusual things all the time walking parallel Ridges on the shadow line.

i'm a labyrinth of hopes and fears
of tears of frustration and of anger
but if you can break through this wall
and search amongst it all
you'll find a man there
who has a heart of love
who is afraid of getting jaded
growing older
who needs someone to love him
through life's winter
when the weather grows a little colder
i know I have a darker side
a cruel streak
i'm selfish and demanding
but I'm a man with a vision
it just takes a little understanding
and in my hand
the grains of sand
a thousand million moments of emotion
oh... these
oh... these my dreams are yours
i'm a boat well rocked by wave and wind
i´ve sinned, I'd win
no prizes for perfection
but at best I've given all my all
my shoulder for your tears
and your protection
and if one day I don't wake up
remember I was good upon reflection
and if they say I was a fool
be cool, but demand correction
and in my hand
the grains of sand
a thousand million moments of emotion
oh... these
oh... these my dreams are yours
you can have my smile my tears
my wishes here's a fortune
to adorn you
i'll whisper in the night to you
promise to adore and never scorn you
and as we grow a little older
try to understand more of each other
i will be your golden eye
your master of illusion
or just your lover
i'll be a dragonfly, a butterfly
a secret or a little lie to test you
a song a verse a lullaby
a symphony once in a while
to try and impress you
i'll take your heart to the limit
the colours of my joy
my tears to dress you
but sometimes dear
my heart's my own
i don't wish to exclude you or
distress you
but darling...
in my hand
the grains of sand
a thousand million moments of emotion
oh... these
oh... these my dreams are yours
these my dreams are yours - marc almond
Heading out this morning into the sun
Riding on the diamond waves, little darlin' one
Warm wind caress her
Her lover it seems
Oh, Annie
Dreamboat Annie my little ship of dreams
Going down the city sidewalk alone in the crowd
No one knows the lonely one whose head's in the clouds
Sad faces painted over with those magazine smiles
Heading out to somewhere won't be back for a while

How can it be October already?!
This time of year always finds me very reflective, thinking about the things I've accomplished or never even started. About every little damn thing I love and about the million moments I wish I could bury away forever.
There's so much to look forward to still before the end of the year, it's hard to believe only three months are left.

Imagine what 49 million moments like this could do for the mood of South Africa. Imagine what 1 million moments like this do for any country.
Oreo, arguably the most popular cookie in the world, recently completed 100 Years of its existence! What could be better than celebrating this occasion with millions of its fans?
Oreo came up with a special “100th Birthday app” encouraging fans to share their Oreo moments. Oreo collected a million moments already! No mean feat, by any standards.
Oreo also picks the best fan stories and celebrates the chosen fan’s birthday on its Facebook Page’s Cover. Making fans feel special is indeed a great way to celebrate a brand’s own special moments.
