The Metropolitan was also marketed as a Hudson model when Nash and Hudson merged in 1954 to form the American Motors Corporation (AMC). The Nash and Hudson lines were phased out in favor of the Rambler line, and in 1957, the Metropolitan became a standalone brand and was badged with a stylized 'M' on hubcaps and grille.

Construction on the awe-inspiring Metropolitan Cathedral started some time between 1550 and 1560, with various additions and renovations being made until it stood completed in 1806. A fine historical example of past architectural styles, the Cathedral of Quito stands proudly as an important religious symbol for the people of the city. Those who come to view this fine structure will be impressed by the number of styles that blend so well together in the architecture of the Metropolitan Cathedral. The arches feature late Gothic design, whilst the main altar is more Baroque in nature. Notably, the choir area is Neoclassic and the ceilings boast Moorish styling.
Not only is the design of the Metropolitan Cathedral building a marvelous sight, but so are its contents. Inside you will discover an array of colonial art of the highest standard. Works include those done by Manuel Samaniego. You will notice his “Ascension of the Virgin” in a prominent position. There is a piece by Caspicara entitled “Descent of Christ from the Cross”. There are also paintings created at the Quito school.

Bloemaert worked in Utrecht and taught many of the leading artists of that city during the course of his long career.The painting is characteristic of the mannerist style which he adopted in the last decade of the sixteenth century.In the middle ground at the left Moses strikes a rock to provide water for the Israelites in the desert.The subject is an Old Testament prototype for salvation through baptism,and the woman with a jug may embody the saving properties of water.

The Naga Metropolitan Cathedral in Naga City, Camarines Sur was erected of Padia-an when the Diocese of Nueva Caceres was created by a Papal Bull of August 14, 1595. The cathedral was destroyed by fire in 1768. The construction of present cathedral in spanish-romanesque style began by Bishop Bernardo dela Concepcion in 1808. Finished and blessed by Mons. Tomas Ladron de Guevara in 1843. It was damaged by typhoon in October 1856, restored by the very Rev. Fray Francisco Gainza in 1862-1879. Damaged by earthquake in 1887, repaired by Obras Publicas under the direction of Bishop Arsenio Campo and Engineer Ricardo Ayuso in 1890.
In the San Pedro area there were Alcos and Baldwins that worked the ports for Metropolitan Stevedore as I recall this was an ex SP RSD12

One of the first subcompacts marketed in the US, the Metropolitan, was assembled in England (where production was more affordable) and marketed by both Hudson and Nash, until they merged to form the American Motor Company. Sold between 1953 and 1961, it was intended as a second car. Its wheelbase (85 in) was smaller than the VW Beetle, and was powered by a 1200 or 1500cc engine. Seen parked on a neighbourhood street in Vancouver's West End.
