This was captured at sunset in Great Meadows, Concord. I was lucky to get to that brief moment after sunset where the clouds light up. A really cold day in the Meadows (wind chill in the 20s) but worth it.

We were out and about for most of the long weekend so I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and spent some time with family and friends! All the best to everyone out there in the flickr community!

It is 5 days and all those days they look beautiful!
Warned by the owl of Ivynali, the elven prince of Shimmering Fen, S'hej prepared things to hide N'atela and the child. In Sialdor he had contacted a coachman who would take his family to distant lands, until he could find a solution. On the day of departure, Alef, our scouting demon-human, had stopped to rest in a Sialdor tavern. It was at the door that he saw the strange scene of the escape, and he was curious. When he approached S'hej, he was initially greeted with suspicion. Aleph had taken the precaution of metamorphosing into an elf-Viridian hybrid, which instead of being reassuring to S'hej seemed odd. But hard times create new friendships, and he finally agreed to tell her about their problems. Aleph, who even though he was a demon, had a big heart, promised to help him, and the couple said goodbye to him with some hope in their hearts.
He started a pilgrimage asking in the underworld who was after the child. He contacted the mördaren whom he "convinced" that it was better to look for other "jobs". He finally made it to the Dragon Realm. It would be an epic showdown...
As all this history deserves more time, we will only say that after an implacable fight, Alef won and left the frozen kingdom with the promise that they would leave the rest of the kingdoms of Faireland alone.
One for the rail enthusiasts, or not as the case may be, the purists will possibly find it abhorrent,
To me it just marks the change over of operator, from Freightliner to DRS on the Russell's...
I'm hoping it has enough visual appeal to others.
I think the two individual shots were,.. okay, positioning is a little awry, but considering there was a four day gap between them, then i have to be reasonably happy.

This was one of my most exciting finds in nature. A Monarch Chrysalis! I happend to be looking in the butterfly garden at a local nature preserve, and I noticed this "thing" hanging on the stalk of a verbenum plant. After close inspection, lo and behold it was a Monarch Chrysalis!! A wild and natural one to boot! I found that to be very cool and took several macro shots. The actual Chrysalis was probably no more than 3/4 inch tall. View large (L) for detail.
