Remeber my Bike Problem?

Mackays kindly welded it back on for a small fee and the result is good. Although I suspect I'll want to find some green paint.

We hosted a meeting with SMART Local 46 Sheet Metal Workers apprentices last night to discuss fabrication and installation of the roof for Car 60.

In deepest Wiltshire, in the ancient (possibly) village of Lacock, beside the ford and stream, there is a very old forged iron railing fence, placed there by the village worthies no doubt to prevent the unwary or drunk from falling in. I just liked the texture in the crown of the post which supports the spanning rail beyond.

Those responsible haven't had a change of heart and dismantled it since the last time I uploaded a picture of whatever it is.

Some improvement was noticed, subsequently, with the addition of flowers. :-)

girlfriend needed two more legs for an ikea desk she had and was changing the setup of. we found two at the scratch and dent section, but only one had the piece that attaches to the desk bottom you screw the leg into.

we found a matching nut for the end of the leg, and I welded it to a rough cut piece of sheet metal (1/8" or so). then I traced a template from the existing flange for the correct size and the screw holes. then cut it down to match and drilled the holes. works like a charm.

yes, you can buy a new leg unit for as little as $3.50, but this only cost us 30 cents or so for the nut and the rest was scrap I had laying around, and then we didn't have to buy the whole leg just to get the mounting flange
