I have been working on a tutorial site for some of the participants of a virtual conference session, those amongst them who are new to online 3D worlds:

The idea is to do it mostly with screenshots, onto which I have added numerical legends and arrows to show how things flow on the menus. So, hopefully it should only take a few hours to run through the basics of the interface, and also like a quick reference guide for when they are actually online.
Although the examples and locations used are all at NGrid, where the event will be held, I am hoping that novices at other grids can also get usage out of this.

I have always been in love with light.
It magically can make the same picture look happy, dull, somber or electric. When PBR got to SL the possibilities became endless to me, but I did panic though. My laptop was in no way enduring Firestorm so I had to switch to Alchemy, saying goodbye to some of my preferred features like area search.
But, gosh, did I get so much more in return! Just take a second (or two!) to look at Salt's work of art on latex, Cat. The way the light falls on the flawless PBR textures of the overall, mask, boots, bento tail, gloves and claws is just insanely beautiful.
I dare you: take some time to play with PBR. No need to do something fancy. Just a nice PBR texture around you, add a reflection probe (or three!) and move them around you. Test some windlights for your environment too, they can totally change the game - every purchase from Salt & Pepper now includes 3 free neutral PBR windlight/ eep.

Sometimes things fall into place quite easily in my mind.
After a very heavy RL day at work, I needed serenity amongst nature. and I knew exactly where to go. I put on my new dress, an absolute beauty that Annie Melson created for us, grabbed my hat and headed over to Soul Deep, a place that my dear friend Sammie introduced me to a while back.
