On 2 December, 2018, Mary Ann and I attended a performance of Handel's "Messiah", performed by artists from Ann Maria College, at Christ the King Church in Worcester.
(Danish: Messiaskirken) Built: 1918-1926. Architect: Carl Schiøtz. Inspiration from different Danish and English churches.

Today is Good Friday, a day that Jesus died for mankind. But it is also a day wrapped around the death penalty. I think Jesus is the most famous case of capital punishment.
Insurrection and sedition against the Roman Empire had the gravest consequences. Only Caesar had the power to specify who was anointed to be king in the backward provinces where they still believed in kings. Any non-sanctioned leader of a group was suspect. And Judea was crawling with many messiahs, gangs of roaming bandits that aimed to control villages and land (bandits have also been translated as "thieves"), and zealots bent on bringing Rome's grasp on the province down. The Romans were big believers in the deterrence of using the death penalty, all kinds of death penalties. Insurrection called for a public example, death by crucifixion in a public place where all could see the consequences of usurping Rome.
Besides crowning and giving him a mock scepter, Roman soldiers put a purple robe on Jesus. A Tyrian purple robe, which was also called in an earlier time Phoenician red, was a significant dye. It was the imperial color reserved only for Caesar, dictator of Rome, something that he and future Caesars wore for the public to recognize them.

Hi all, Chubbybots back here with my own custom Mark 6 Jaeger Emerald Messiah inspired by the movie Pacific Rim Uprising.
Her primary weapons are the 2 sonic cannons on her shoulders. It produces a sonic weapon that only affects Kaiju tissue rendering them paralyze.
Her secondary weapon includes the twin claws on her forearms reminiscent of Striker Eureka.
Her third weapon is inspired something gundam inspired haha :D I believe many will know that reference :D

There where quite a few days of camping in the woods before we could reach the base. That's where I learned the story of Erik's past. That could be a book on its own, but for the sake of time, I will say only the most important details."
Eric was born 1940, in Poland, and was soon captured by nazi forces. There, he was experimented on by German doctors. This resulted in his powers being greatly magnified, but at a cost. The concentration camps where designed to break the mind and spirits of those imprisoned there. As a result of his time there, he developed a messiah complex, meaning that he thinks that he is the savior of mutant kind. It also made him very prejudice towards humanity, as he felt as though the reason humanity suppressed mutant kind was to oppress them and keep them from become the dominant species, which he believed they where."
"He explained all this to me as we prepared to break into the base. Our plan was very simple, Erik would break us in, protect us from any harm, and destroy any cameras that might catch us on film, while I was there to wipe the guards minds of our faces, so that no one would know of us."
"Our plan went well up until we encountered the soldiers that where sent to deal with us. Erik sensed them below us, so he diced the best course of action was to break the ground under our feet. I managed to get down rather unscathed, but I can't say the same for the guards. Erik floated down and started constricting them with all types of wire and metal cords. That's when I really saw into the psyche of Erik. It was then I really saw how the camps had skewed his views on humanity. He was strangling them and even started to break there limbs. I managed to get into his mind and stop him before he did any lasting damage."

The first was that I was an incredible asset to his cause, and could lead the way for his revelation if I so fit. The second, was that I could be an incredible force to be reckoned with if I were to turn on him. It was then he realized that he needed to stay with me to make sure I didn't interfere with his plans. "Keep your friends close, and your enemy's closer", as the saying goes."

Christ (ancient Greek: Christós, meaning 'anointed') is a translation of the Hebrew, the MESSIAH, and is used as a title for Jesus in the New Testament.
The followers of Jesus became known as Christians (as in Acts 11:26) because they believed Jesus to be the MESSIAH prophesied in the Hebrew Bible. Christians designate HIM Jesus Christ, meaning Jesus the Christos. Christ was originally a title, but later became part of the name "Jesus Christ", though it is still also used as a title, in the reciprocal use Christ Jesus, meaning "The Messiah Jesus".
Jesus is not accepted by the majority of Jews as their MESSIAH. The Jewish people still await the MESSIAHS first coming, while Christians await HIS second coming, when they believe HE will fulfill those parts of Messianic prophecy left unfulfilled in the first century AD.

RV messiah guy, parked for months (maybe a year now, actually) at 89A and the Mingus extension. Is he allowed to camp in a non-camping area for reasons of religious expression? His hand-painted signs are not always biblical fire and brimstone. Once I saw one that said "Oh how I wish I had Jesse's girl"!

Illusions of life. We are programmed to recognise creatures. More specifically, are we born to see a symmetrical form as a threat of sorts in a similar way to bees that recognise (respond to) symmetrical flowers as food sources.
Put another way: are we naturally likely, as infants, to interpret a complex bilaterally symmetrical pattern as a life form. There may be some evolutionary advantage attached to such an inborn ability. Unknown life forms can be life threatening.
The image panels were made from a complex image by simple reflection about a vertical line. The image on the right is the same as the one on the left, flipped 180º.
