There was only one place I was going for the MM theme of mesh and that was the allotment. This is mesh that we’ve used to protect the kale for a good few years as you can tell! We undo the ‘cage at the end of every year and reassemble the following spring. We evidently ran into a bit of difficulty in getting it down one year as there’s a bit of a rip going on here. It does protect against the cabbage whites nicely and the kale I’m pleased to announce is doing just grand despite the dry weather.

After I finished washing dishes I dropped the dishrag over the sink strainer and snapped this picture. It is what it is and I'm too lazy to do more. I used my 75mm square template to frame the photo and cropped inside of it. Hmm and thanks for what ever you care to do or say about this picture.

The theme for this week is mesh. I chose a metal mesh bookend as my subject. I liked the idea of having a corner in focus, with the image blurring as it gets farther from the edge. It made me think about truth and how it becomes distorted the further it is from the original source. HMM!

Rendering Mesh is made of flexible fibreglass, in various colours, and comes in sheet form on cardboard rolls and is used in the building & construction trades. It is embedded into the base-coat of wet render (sand & cement mix) and then covered over with the top-coat to prevent possible cracks developing in external wall coatings on houses and other buildings.

In this photo I used a small square of bright pink and a small square of white render mesh placed together, formed into a cone shape and put the camera lens into the cone to take the shot. Lighting; LED spotlights. Contrast enhanced slightly. Taken Macro 1:1
