AVR-03 rolls west through semi-rural Washington County at MP-31, Zediker, PA, on a beautiful day of snow sticking to all the trees.
I’m glad that forgiveness does not (always) require reconciliation. “Let it be” then becomes a necessary reality. For in this frontier, the past has no purpose, but to lay before it all of one’s failures and steal precious potential. No! Not today. The present and the future requires only the good gifts you bring…to each new dawn. To “miss the mark” is to do otherwise.

Every year our fire department and food bank drive past every house in town to collect canned food.
Last year for some reason, they drove by so fast we couldn't get outside to give them food. This year, they stopped out front and passed food to a food bank van. The Grand-kids loved it!
I was talking to a volunteer and he said they thought this would be the last year the old firetruck would go out. They just can't find parts to keep it running.
As a kid, the Fire Department would come to our school in this very truck and take all the students on a field trip to the fire station. That was 53yrs ago for me.. Happy we got to see it running another year.
Health and happiness (these are my priorities) and I wish that for you too guys.

It's cold here! Nine below zero when I woke up with 35 mph winds. Then the wind picked up!! It was tough being outside with -35 windchills. Even the dog didn't want to leave the house!

To my Flickr contacts and friends, I wish you all a Merry Christmas. I hope it will be a Christas filled with family, peace, joy, good food and traditions. This is the village Christmas tree we in the ungdomslag raise every year here in Fjaerland.
Ungdomslaget is the same org. that held the Smalahovefest in a previous posting. These are things we do on "dugnad", without pay or cover for our cost. It is just a joy to be able to do something fun for the people in this tiny place we call home.
The hotel in the background is Hotel Mundal. It is in the prosess of restoration and have been closed for a couple of years.
