Opportunities like this are few and far between. Two giant frogfish sat on top of a fish trap. Super easy to spot and very easy to approach. Sitting on top of the trap meant I could get close with no worries about the enviroment around the fish. The Mergui Archipelago in Burma is full of surprises like this one!

With no scales, the giant frogfish resembles a sponge more than it does a fish. The giant frogfish is actually a boney fish in the Class Actinopterygii (ray-finned fishes), their fins are supported by sturdy rays (spines).

Explore the real paradise with white #beaches at #Kyun-Phi-Lar #Island, #Myanmar.

Sometimes also called Pilar, this is definitely an island of Myanmar's beautiful #Mergui-Archipelago. The long white beaches stretch for kilometers without a footprint in the sand. Can frequently see monkeys sitting on the beach and leisurely snacking on crabs. It's a real paradise. One can have some fun snorkeling, kayaking or paddle boarding at this island or simply gather around a bonfire having some splendid barbeque. For more info visit goo.gl/hRxCWg

The Porcelain crab is actually a relative of the squat lobster and not a true crab. In this case a non-crab like animal has evolved into an animal that resembles a true crab, this is called carcinisation. Porcelain crabs have three pairs of walking legs unlike a true crab which has four. The porcelain crabs are fragile and will shed their limbs to escape predators, hence their name.
