'Thunderbox' toilets around the poop.
We spent weeks at anchor off Thailand, loading Tapioca from a series of barges. The Tapioca came onboard in sacks, and a huge workforce was needed to empty the bags into the massive holds. All the local workers lived on deck in temporary tents.
I went to the National Archives last weekend, and amongst other things, I found my Grandfather's merchant navy records.
