Es kann nicht alle Tage Sonntag sein 😊

Contrasting menus at one of my favourite seafood restaurants. I think that this demonstrates that with photograph, you can even find beauty in the simplest of things that we take for granted.

In the glow of flickering light,

A menu opens to the night.

Promises of flavors bright,

Yet, alas, an uncertain sight.

Le menu à l'ardoise est un menu abordable

Looks like a grub of some sort and the other I have no idea but watching them coming back and forth there are a wide variety of food been caught.

Deciding what to have from the menu

This restaurant is a laid-back spot offering American chow & tipples. Enjoy a Sunday brunch in casual wear with marina views.

For those that weren't aware of them before they visit the toilets in Sketch they must come as quite a surprise....... Not least as the building itself is an 18th Century Listed townhouse.

For those intrigued by the restaurant you can take a look here : sketch.london/venue_Gallery_David_Shrigley.php?menu=1#gsc...

From Wikipedia : "9 Conduit is a Grade II listed townhouse in Mayfair, designed by Scottish Architect James Wyatt in 1779 as the private residence of James Viner. Following that the building hosted a bizarre variety of societies and institutions that, according to some accounts, included cyclists, balloonists and psychologists, as well as the Suffragette movement in the early 20th century, RIBA and Christian Dior.

In 1887–1909 Conduit Street was converted into the headquarters of Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and still retains its plaque and crest in the entrance hall. During this time RIBA/AA hosted a competition to re-design the 18th century façade design and although this was never realized, the RIBA archive at the V&A retains some of the competition proposal drawings.

The townhouse continued its interesting design legacy and history in the mid-20th century to become Christian Dior’s London atelier, within which Dior housed his collections. During this time in the 1970s the listed interior was modified by the seminal mid century architect and leading Pop interior designer and furniture maker Max Clendinning (b. 1924) who designed cupboards, cubicles and display cases for Dior’s ready to wear clothes and accessories. To combine the old and new, everything (including the walls, ceilings and woodwork) was painted a uniform mid-grey with a grey velvet Wilton carpet and grey uniformed attendants to “throw the clothes into sharper relief, and seems to conform with the classical, refined elegance of the House of Dior itself.” This austere style of monochromatic design was developed from his seminal 1960s signature white on white designs that marked the peak of British Modernism.

When the building was taken over by Sketch the interior was re-designed by Mazouz and Paris-based designer and sculptor Noé Duchaufour Lawrance. Several other international designers were commissioned for signature pieces, which are featured throughout sketch."

Greetings all, back online now regularly for a few weeks, hope everyone well and I'm looking forward to some serious photo gazing...

This shot was taken in western Nepal back in May. The temp was well in the 40s (celcius) ... there was sweat in my eyes, everything was wavering so I've tried to recreate the image. The tiger must have been thinking "Will I or wont I? Nah, it's too damn hot..."

The items on the menu in the foreground are Barasingha (Swamp deer).
