My first time visiting this stunning location in the heart of the North Wales countryside.

Arrow Valley Country Park,Redditch

Once we release ourselves from the precepts of time only then can we appreciate what’s around us. Too often we dwell in the pain of the past, or worry about what’s lies ahead, and the now is only an illusion that is gone as soon as it arrives. No to release ourselves from time, slow down and appreciate what and who are around us is surely the happiest path through life . It’s taken me a lifetime to learn but has given me a lifetime ahead to enjoy

Nercwys Forest on a cold January morning as we headed off into Bryn Alyn on what can only be described as a stunning hike with incredible views and landscape, the forest is situated Near Mold in North Wales UK.

It’s sometimes hard not to feel like I’m stuck in the shadows; normal “life” can overwhelm so easily. I know there are many people saying it, but I wanted to add my voice, again, to the increasing multitude - spending time in or watching nature, however you choose to experience it, is so good for the mind and body. Add to that the therapeutic effects the camera has for me, and somewhere like Bempton Cliffs is heaven for me. Somewhere as bountiful as Bempton not only allows many views of birds behaving in many ways, but also allows a photographer to try many different techniques. One of my favourites is to switch to spot metering when shooting Gannets - their bright, white bodies and yellow heads are absolutely perfect for this, giving a lovely low key image. The editing later allowing me to relive my time there, my heaven on earth, and rediscover myself when life starts to take over again.

From out of the fog…

A metaphor? Maybe, but most probably too early to properly say. But I’ve at least worked out how to turn the foglights on to help me see the way as I start out on this journey. It also helps that I have amazing navigators in the form of family and friends, who have not shied away in a time of need.

I’m really enjoying these foggy images from my recent trip to Bempton. And they go to show you don’t need perfect conditions for wonderful images. Of course, this is a Gannet, closing in on the cliffs - but surely by now, dear viewer, you need no introduction to these birds?

Trying to feel more like me, so spent a little time in the garden earlier and found this handsome wee fellow. One of the jumping spiders in this country of the Salticidae order, this is Salticus scenicus, the Common Zebra Spider. This is a male, which you can see from the very long chelicerae, (black tubey things that you can't quite see in this image), along with slightly less defined patterning and darker legs than the female. The male only grows to between 5-6mm, so a tiny thing!

Seoul, South Korea - November 3, 2022: A young man wearing a sweater with a U.S. flag cries as leaves Itaewon subway station, with notes from a makeshift memorial set up for victims of a deadly Halloween crowd crush surrounding him.

Artist's Note: My present installation is about Sound which is the result of vibrations of the air, one of the 5 elements of nature. Sound is the energy in the air. This artwork depicts the physical energies of the environment, which is a combination of cosmic and earth energies which forms the essential energy serving as a vital force required for existence of all life forms – human beings, plants, animals on earth. The present installation on one of the basic 5 elements (panchabhootas) of nature along with various forms of nature, sustain life and maintain equilibrium on this planet. Any imbalance in the interplay of these forces can result in chaos. An invisible equation operates between the elements outside, the elements within the individual and the living surroundings which deeply effect their mental well being … such is the impact of sound on all living beings.

“All this talk and turmoil and noise and movement and desire is outside the veil, within the veil is silence, calm and rest” - this artwork is just antagonistic to this saying, whether inside or outside veil – the deeply seated meaning, to stay in peace/tranquil state, remains the same. - Veguri Ravindra Babu.

I have so much work to do. I stayed late tonight to do a loas. But what did I do tonight? Painted my nails! I just needed a switch off after a very long and tiring day. #selfcare #mentalwellbeing #teacherlife

A lesson I learned from my daughter is that SEL concepts needs to be based on real life challenges. Only kids understand what they are going through. And they know that we, as adults, just don’t get it.

Being able to conceive and having a confirmation of pregnancy is likely to delight prospective parents including their families. However, the entire duration of pregnancy is not a cake walk. Most women are worried about the health of their baby and feel pressurized to listen to the elders by following their advice. They need to accept and cope with changes in their bodies at the same time.

The concept of obtaining pre-conception counseling has been gaining traction in India of late too. Couples who are ready to start their family find it beneficial to go for a counseling session with fertility doctor as well as a psychologist. The couple thus remains prepared for the birth of a baby and understands the stress on one’s physical and mental health. They thus learn to deal with the physiological changes as well as the conflicting emotions during pregnancy. The counselor helps them in the following ways:-

1) Accept the changes and have a realistic body image in mind

2) Cope with anxiety and stress

3) Battle depression

4) Forget the trauma associated with mishaps such as miscarriage and look forward to the delivery
