As our old backyard fence began to tilt and threaten to fall into the laneway, we had to secure it before we were able to replace it with a new one that will hopefully be with us for many years.

Found a couple of books on Sashiko embroidery on the way to the photography section at the library. I'm now hooked!
This is my first knee mend which i know is super untidy but they're old jeans and I've come to rather like the shambles.
Derelict house in Naxos town, Naxos, Greek Islands. What a beautiful place, food, people. Easy travelling to other islands.
… I had the supreme pleasure of meeting Mr. Louis Mendes with his vintage Graflex Speed Graphic camera outfitted with two flash units and a Polaroid back and his friend. A true gentleman and very interesting to talk with. I felt a bit guilty taking this portrait with my mobile, but I was out making groceries, so I had to use the tool at hand. ⚜️
Google him if you are not familiar.

Macro Mondays: Redux 2016--My Favorite Theme of the Year
My redux is from the November 21st theme - Stich. I had essentially taken this exact same shot, but when I went to post it I had forgotten to factor in the end of daylight saving time.and the the posting for that week had closed. This was one of my favorite MM shots, so I am very happy to have a second chance to share.
I met the legendary Louis Mendes in New York and had an unforgettable conversation with him and my son. Check this out: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Mendes#/media/File%3AMr._Lo...
Years ago my son was trying to open a drawer, it was stuck, this angel was on top of the dresser and fell... on his head. He was so sweet and apologetic to me even though he was hurt:) She was mended and I think it just adds to her character.
This is a handmade, hand-bound artist's book of toned and stitched cyanotypes that are a part of my Elegy portfolio. The book was a response to a challenge from a book-making community on Instagram, which is called #areyoubookenough. The theme for February was "HEAL," so it seemed fitting to make something that related to my hysterectomy, for which the process of healing remains ongoing.
Mr Mendes is a well known New York street photographer.
Mr Mendes; if you happen to see this photo i want to thank you for graciously letting me take your picture.
Louis Mendes is a charming, iconic street photographer in NY, often seen around B&H....
reduced vignetting...(the original was an attempt to add unevenness to the wall....)
I've been waffling about this, and couldn't decide which one I preferred! :((....so, I'll throw the dice on this version and let them fall where they will!
