An old cobbler earning his pride by policing passerby's shoes at one of the busiest markets of Delhi, India. You will find him in every season be it summers, winters or even in rainy days. Always smiling and interacting with his customers.

Men At Work . Located at 1413 North Main Street and built before 1910 by Samuel F. Gilliard this Queen Anne style residence with a Colonial Revival influence was included on the South Boston Walking Tour. See www.oldhalifax.com/county/SBWalkingTour33.htm.
A litle more than a year ago, when a fire would destroy its upstairs attack, a tarpaulin was placed over the hole in the roof. Having remained empty and unrepaired, eventurally, the tarp blew off and after more a year of rain flowing inm the house became so infected with mold, that the town condemned the building and ordered its demolition.
When on Friday morning, 16 June 2006, that I would began my photo walk along North Main Street, in South Boston VA with hopes of capturing South Boston Historic District www.cr.nps.gov/nr/travel/VAmainstreet/sou.htm two 'men at work' were in the process of demolition.. Later that afternoon when I would return from the photo walk the 'backhoe operator who was still at work would inform me that the demolition process would be completed, perhaps by Tuesday. Having taken a picture of the contractors sign, I said that I would send copies of the pictures to them. I'll check further with my friends and contacts in South Boston to learn more about this piece of property. And each time that I visit South Boston, in the future, I'll photograph, doucment, record and capture the rebuilding process of the new property. North Main Street . South Boston, VA . In the final stages of the 2006 engraving process, at THE WALL, Jim Lee unveils the names that he and Kirk Bockman have just engraved on lines 24 and 25 of the last panel at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial at Judiciary Square in WDC. Over a two week period, Bockman and Lee would add a total of 466 names. Once lines 24 and 25, on this last panel, have been unveiled, which would occur at approximately 4 PM on Tuesday, 2 May 2006 the 2006 engraving process will have been completed ... in time for the 18th Annual NLEOMF Candlelight Vigil which will take place on 13 May 2006. Men At Work . Unit Block . M Street, SE . WDC . Saturday morning, 26 November 2005
While having breakfast with Richard at McDonald in SW at the corner of South Capitol and I Streets I'd read an article in December 2005 isssue of The Southwester www.swdc.org pertaining to the 23 October 2005 dedication of the Peace Memorial Garden which on 1 October, located at the corner of M and South Capitol Streets in SW, I had unknowingly photographed two Men At Work www.flickr.com/photos/perspective/54733736/in/photostream/ who at the time were preparing the soil for the future garden.
When Richard mentioned that he was going outside, of McDonalds, to the patio to take a smoke and would return, inside, in a few mintues to continue reading the paper I'd say that I would head back home ... and take some pictures ... along the way!
Wanting to photograph the newly installed Peace Memorial Garden I'd walk along Eye, turn right unto First Street and walk toward M Street. Since in September 2005 I had begun photographing "Men At Work" www.flickr.com/photos/perspective/31594129/in/set-705008/ in the Unit Block of M Street and so as to add a few more images to that collection www.flickr.com/photos/perspective/sets/705008/ I would take this series of images before heading over to the SW Peace Memorial Garden, which is just a block up the street.

Colin Hay (Men at Work) April 28 2005 songwriting workshop at Luna Star Cafe, North Miami. The composer of the deathless classic "Do You Come From a Land Down Under?" and, more recently, the widely adored "I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You" was matey and fascinatingly anecdotal about the vagaries of the star machine at this exclusive little workshop for about 10 of us at Luna. Then, when he began to sing, you realized just how good he really is.

So here's what Deanna Issacs had to say about Renzo Piano's new Modern Wing for the Art Institute of Chicago back in March of 2006:
"Besides a public terrace and restaurant on the third floor, the addition has sprung a long tongue of a bridge – 15 feet wide and 620 feet long – that it’ll stick right up the ass of Millennium Park.
“No one knows more about all things visual than the Art Institute, so I must be mistaken in thinking that this attenuated ramp, which rises in a straight shot at a five-degree angle from the midsection of the park to the third floor of the new wing, will be a blight on the eastern horizon. (I’m also probably getting the wrong signals from the extruded aluminum sunscreen over the east pavilion’s glass roof. Piano has dubbed it a ‘flying carpet,’ but to me it whispers ‘patio enclosure.’)"
I dunno. Passed it under construction the last couple of weekends and it seems to be coming together quite nicely.
