Measuring spoon handles. The spoons are part of a set including conventional teaspoon (5ml) and tablespoon (15ml) sizes, plus fractions of a teaspoon. I've never had to use any of the minuscule informal measurements in this range, but I am amused that someone attempted to standardize these rather vague units called for in recipes.
According to one source I've found, here are the equivalents to each unit:
Tad: 1/8 teaspoon (0.6ml)*
Dash: 1/8 to 1/16 teaspoon (0.6 to 0.3ml)
Pinch: 1/16 to 1/24 teaspoon (0.3 to 0.2 ml)
Smidgen: 1/32 to 1/48 teaspoon (less than 0.2 ml)
* My set includes a 1/8-tsp spoon, which means the Tad spoon in the set is probably closer to 1/10 teaspoon.
I'm sure the — excuse the pun — well-seasoned professional or hobbyist will take these measurements with, well, a grain of salt and adapt accordingly to achieve repeatable perfection.

The Cheese slicer - Ostehøvel (Norwegian)
A cheese slicer is used usually to cut semi-hard and hard cheeses. It produces thin, even slices. There are different styles of cheese slicers, designed for cheeses of varying hardness. A cheese slicer can be also used for slicing cold butter, zucchini, cucumber or cabbage.
Ostehøvel, a modern cheese slicer or cheese plane, was invented by Thor Bjørklund in 1925 in Norway. Mass production of the Ostehøvel cheese slicer started during 1927 in Lillehammer, Norway. The design was based on the carpenter's plane. This style of slicer is very common in the Nordic countries, and in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
A galaxy whisk, which I bought on the advice of a sales clerk and have rarely used. It mostly just sits in my kitchen drawer.

I only had to burn three matches to find pareidolia.
Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon in which the mind responds to a stimulus, usually an image or a sound, by perceiving a familiar pattern where none exists.
Common examples are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, hidden messages within recorded music played in reverse or at higher (or lower) than normal speeds, and hearing indistinct voices in random noise such as that produced by air conditioners or fans. (Wikipedia®)

This picture is for the group Macro Mondays and this week the theme is "Member's Choice - Found in the kitchen".
I've had these little "juicers" for.....forever!! You're supposed to push the serrated end into an orange and drink the juice from the spout.

The kitchen provides me with many photo opportunities, so it was a case of looking for something not so obvious for this week's theme. In a drawer, 'hidden' in a tin I came across this set of pastry cutters. Luck was with me because the bottom of the tin was lined with a disk of red paper. So removing the centre cutter and balancing it on the others I got this photo.
No extra or fancy lighting was needed with the tin on the work surface.

We are bit famous for our Danish kitchen gadgets, this one was bought in Denmark, but is actually Swiss. It is an Egg topper. It neatly removes the top of your breakfast boiled egg.
Here is shown just the top of the plunger. See below for a photo of the whole device. The background is reflections of a some coloured plastic in the inside of a very shiny metal salad bowl.

A small section of a 4 sided cheese grater, shot in macro, cropped and edited!
The original grater was first invented way back in 1540.
It's used to grate foods into small pieces, and is usually made of a stainless steel surface, to stop rusting.
I usually use this one to grate carrots and of course; cheese.
This image does look a little like a face of a Knight in a pareidolia sort of way, what do you think?
