The Orion constellation featuring several nebulas. The huge Barnard Loop is visible as a band on the right of the constellation. The nebulosity around lambda orionis is also visible.

To the bottom right you can see the Rosette nebula and on the top left next to Rigel the witchhead nebula.

Inside Orion M42, the horsehead and flame nebulas are visible.

Orion is a wonderful constellation full of bright and interest objects and you can never get bored of it.

Early in the morning Orion seems to be climbing the wall. The mitic warrior doing his stuff.

Sirio, α-Canis Major, follows.

Trying the head on this body because I want a girl Lumedoll (Meissa/Heka) on this body. Think it works pretty well. Slight resincolordifference and Lumedolls resin is more smooth than Mirodolls.

"Founder of the ensemble Piirpauke, Sakari Kukko’s latest band project Afro Chamber introduces the Etno-Espa audiences to music which is based on West African traditions while also featuring Finnish traditional music, including tunes by Sibelius, Kuula and Malmstén. The ensemble’s singer Meissa Niang comes from a large griot family and has toured the world for decades. Another ensemble member from a long line of griots is the award-winning balafon master Issa Dembele from Burkina Faso. While Afro Chamber’s music is firmly based on the West African griot traditions, the group’s productions are contemporary, managing to embrace all the combined expertise and experience acquired by each of its members."

Orion photographed from Monmouthshire. Despite being 20 miles from Bristol and Newport, the light pollution from from these cities leaves Orion looking like it is wading up to its waist through a sea of orange Lucozade. There's nothing I can do about this as Orion does not rise higher in the sky and is to the south.

Amazingly, this exposure is only thirty seconds at f2 with a bog standard 50mm lens, on a Nikon D7000, set to ISO 2000. The camera tracked the stars by being mounted on an Astrotrac. Any longer exposure and the image washes out completely. The faintest stars in the image are around magnitude 11.

Night of the Leonid Meteor shower; I actually only saw one and my daughter 4. Needless to say, I didn't capture any meteors. But there are LOTS of stars.

I had to go out with the camera tonight having seen how clear the sky was. I've not seen Orion this clearly before... Maybe I did and wasn't aware of what I was looking at!

Clearly visible is Orion's belt, the Orion Nebula, Betelgeuse, Meissa, Bellatrix, Alnitak, Alntlam, Mintaka, Saiph and Rigel. I didn't realise how much there was to see tonight, it's a shame I got scared off by fear of the dark ;-)
