Last spring break (yep, it took me 9 months to develop the film and 3 more to scan it) I went to Boston, Salem, new Hampshire, and Maine to visit some of the most incredible people I have ever known. I've made it a point to travel places where I know people because they are helpful, courteous, and so fun to be around.
Carla took me out to Salem one day and we did a bit of walking around because the weather was perfect. This is one image that I can't wait to print - maybe I'll wait until next spring break!
Expand the view on the Water Lillys, it the only sharp area of this image. . Fujifilm GW680III Ektar 100. I always shoot at .50XBox Speed ISO. If it's a 200 ISO film, I shoot at 100 ISO. The beautiful thing about film is the exposure reciprocity latitude. It's always best to overexpose at 2+ stops on film

one of my first attempts at making a panoramic image. this was back before i understood parallax, tripod heads, stitching software etc. I went crazy trying to stitch these images, and even went back and gave it a try with stitching software, before giving up and filing them. I didn't realize the low tech approach has merits too. I have a bunch of these early pre smooth stich panos to go back and look at.I think the composite look has a charm and vitue of it's own, it's just taken a while to think about it.
