These fishermen are bringing their catch of the day for sale at the "Old Port" in Marseille. The Port has been the natural harbor of the city since Antiquity. The area became mainly pedestrian in 2013 and now enjoys a revived Mediterranean atmosphere. This popular Port is now often visited by hordes of tourists.
I never thought I would upload these photos, this is what I call incidental work, it was never my intention to photograph these rocks, the main subject was 180° the other way, but the clouds, and the underwater clarity made me stop.
As I look back on this picture, I remember a sense of awe and just taking everything in. I had only set foot on the beautiful African coast a week before and I was taking a stroll along the beach around 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon while my wife to be was at work. The Mediterranean is such a unique and beautiful place. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. The water so clear, a color unlike anything I had seen in the United States before, and a fierceness you could sense as soon as you were near it. You had respect for its beauty. You could sit all day and enjoy it, yet you had to respect it because you knew how powerful the sea was. This is only a glimpse of the beauty of the One who made it and an even smaller glimpse of the respect and awe I have for the One who made it!
