This was an exciting morning discovery on the East side of Oahu Island in Hawaii. My time on Oahu was just beginning. Warming Tropical breezes were on call for the days to follow! What a treat it was. Thanks to the meditation folks for pointing out this magical spot.

I spent some meditative time at Chase waterfall. The flow is higher than most people can remember. I feel frustrated that I can't quite capture just how much water is going over this relatively small fall, but I can tell you that it is enough that the folks that I saw there (and me too) were being quite careful, because you do sense immediately not only the beauty but the danger. It would easily grab you and sweep you away. This water is really moving in large quantities. To give a sense of it, under normal summer flow I can stand beside the big boulder that has a stream of water flowing over it in the middle-right of the photo.
Dusk lured me to the sleeping woods to rest in winter’s silence.
As an introvert and creative type, I crave alone time. In the winter, meditative (snowshoe) walks at dusk are one of my favorite things to do.
Silence moves me to a deep state of peace, and I can then return to my life situation restored.
I came up through the cloud on the mountain that morning to a bluebird sky, now, in this moment, I was heading back down through them. It was really cool....Like traversing from one realm to another. Almost like a time machine and it wasn't even cold.
- also, i like to draw. I like to call it intuitive drawing, i often go into meditative state. this is something that always calms me.

Illuminated water features of a hotel at Black Forest
The colours were changing from green to yellow to red in a kind of Mexican wave, so I had to wait for the moment when the fountains in front turned green again.
Watching the fountains was quite meditative (apart from the fact that it was very cold : ))
I had been away for some days and will try to catch up in the course of this week

Farbig beleuchtete Wasserspiele bei einem Hotel im Schwarzwald
Die Farben wechselten in einer Art Laola-Welle von Grün über Gelb zu Rot, so dass ich den Moment abpassen musste, wenn die Wasserspiele im Vordergrund wieder grün wurden. Das Beobachten der Wasserspiele hatte dabei etwas sehr Meditatives (abgesehen davon, dass es sehr kalt war : ))

A two day photography adventure lead to a very early morning sunrise about a month ago. Dropping down from Loughrigg in the Lake District to be greeted by amazing mist and a colour full rising sun. Namtso is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and significant for Tibetan Buddhists. Kora is a Tibetan word that means "circumambulation" or "revolution". Kora is both a type of pilgrimage and a type of meditative practice in the Tibetan Buddhism. Thus, Namtso Kora means pilgrimage walk around the Lake Namtso.
Namtso literally means heavenly lake in Tibetan language. Located around 240km northwest of Lhasa, capital of Tibet, it takes four hours’ driving from Lhasa. Extending 70 km from east to west and 30 km from south to north, the lake covers an area of 1,920 sq km and has an altitude of 4748 m above sea level. It is biggest lake in Tibet and the second biggest salt lake in China as well as one of the highest lakes in the world. The water in the lake is crystally clear and blue. The blue sky joins the surface of the lake in the distance, creating an integrated, scenic vista.
In every Tibetan year of sheep, thousands of Tibetan Buddhism believers will come here to worship this sacred lake. As a rule, they will walk clockwise along the Namtso Lake in order to receive the blessing of the gods.
There are several fine Tibet treks around the lake. The shortest one is roughly 4 kilometers and takes less than one hour. It starts from the accommodation area to a hermit’s cave hidden behind a large spinter of rock. The kora continues to a rocky promontory of cairns and prayer flags. At the promontory, pilgrims undertake a ritural washing in the lake. And then the trail continues past several caves and a prostration point where there are two rock towers looking like two hands. Pilgrims squeeze into the deep slices of the nearby cliff face as a means of sin detection or drink water dripping from cave roofs, even swallow holy dirt.

and silence your Inner critic. Taken from my kayak. Even though Spring seems like a long ways off with arctic temps still looming and 3 feet of snow outside thoughts of kayaking like this pleasure my mind and leave me in a meditative state.

I've been thinking a lot about what I want to say in my images. Long story short ... I'm still thinking. I found visiting this location with the overcast sky to be somewhat therapeutic.
I've been spending most of this week over at 500px. Great place to view extraordinary photography. But I find the site currently lacking in the community/camaraderie aspect. For now flickr will still be my home. I've met some amazing people here who also happen to take incredible photographs. I wouldn't trade that for anything.
