Enjoying the warm Thai sun surrounded by the lively street life and the Golden Temple, we decided to cool off at the local ice cream shop. The cheerful ice cream vendor greeted us with a wide smile and offered an array of colorful ice creams ranging from bold tropical flavors to classic refreshers. With the sun warming our skin, we opted for delicious coconut lime ice creams. The ice cream tasted delicious.

As you focus your mind on your third eye, then your full attention is only on your third eye. After some time you can feel you are looking for different colors, just like red, blue, green, white, orange & pink etc. Few peoples see different flowers and some feel their body is getting warm up, and some feel cold. Few people feel the vibration in their chakras of the body. Everyone has a different kind of feelings. If you feel enjoy during the meditation than your mind will be controlled. And then you can't feel the pain in your body and you will be able to sit for a long time in one position during the meditation. But if your mind doesn't control than you feel a little bit of pain or tiredness in your body.

Precautions / to be avoided: Cigarettes, coffee, pickle, chicken, fish, eggs, more spicy or oily food. If you follow the above, your five elements control and your seven chakras will work properly in your body. And any kind of mental and physical problem will be cured. Especially any kind of mental problem meditation is very good.

We teach the regular practice of a balanced series of techniques, the energy of the body and mind can be liberated and the quality of consciousness can be expanded. This is not a subjective claim but is now being investigated by the scientists and being shown by an empirical fact. Contact- www.omashram.in www.omyogaashram.in

Captured this and the previous images on a Saturday morning in San Francisco. As I was driving west on Market Street, I saw people holding a big banner that stated Falun Dafa is Good with rows of people lined up behind them. As we see in the first image of this short series of photos, San Francisco's City Hall was their backdrop. I turned off Market Street and walked the perimeter of the group and captured a few images while trying not to be invasive. The group was well behaved, with new people joining the lines of those moving in unison to the voice coming through the loud speakers to their left. I photographed a much larger group at Union Square several years ago where there were many information posters and people to explain them. That occasion included a parade with people in customary dress, musicians, and a review stand for the parade which included decorated floats.

At times, internet forums and communities can also prove to be useful when you want to learn about meditation online. For instance, you can find message boards and online chat groups in which meditation enthusiasts gather to talk about meditation techniques and other matters associated with well-being and spirituality. Such groups may prove to be helpful to obtain advice from people who are actually practicing the methods and techniques that you wish to learn. You can also use an online meditation guide to get advice on learning meditation as well as referrals to other websites that have more information that you’re looking for.

Accept the fact that thoughts will arise during your meditation practice, sometimes more often than not, and be open to the spaciousness that can arise amongst them.

Physical benefits-

Pranayama develops the lungs and those who practice it will have a powerful, sweet, melodious voice.

The body becomes lean, strong and healthy. Excretions become scanty and the appetite becomes keen. The digestive fire is augmented. There is luster on the face and the eyes sparkle like diamonds.

The practitioner becomes very handsome. The student becomes so perfect in brahmacharya, sensual restraint, that his mind will not be shaken even if a celestial maiden tries to embrace him.

The student is free from all sorts of diseases. The nadis, flows of energy, are purified.

Steady practice arouses inner spiritual light, happiness and peace of mind. It is impossible to extol the wonderful effects of pranayama adequately. It is the magic wand for attaining perfection in all spheres of life. Even a few days of practice will convince you of its remarkable glory. Start from today, this very moment.

The Vedic fire ceremony

During the Vedic period, Havan was a part of daily life but with time its existence has faded. However, the fire ceremony is still conducted during religious and spiritual events.

Artist Name*: Garrett Hurley

Medium/Type*: Ceramics - Porcelain with High Fire glaze

Size: about 3 1/2 '' tall

Year: 2010

Artist’s Description of the Piece:

When we sit in meditation we can cultivate the ability to see beyond our typical boundaries and illusions. This ceramic piece represents someone who has sat down to meditate and has let go of their conditioned mind patterns of identifying with a separate self and has come into touch with truth. The high fire glaze running over the body represents the release. The colors of this sitter represents the fruits that can come through the process of sitting through our aversions and sufferings represented by the high fire.

Questions:

1. How does this piece relate to Dharma?*

The piece offers a direct pointer at the realization of no-self. Integral to that realization is letting go of illusions and mind created boundaries and concepts which obscures the realization of no-self. The sitting meditation posture points at the value of formal meditation practice and Dharma teachings that can help us to find our own way to liberating realization.

2.Were there any particular Dharma teachings that this was inspired by?
