Despite numerous medicated baths, Darla's skin is still driving her crazy with itchiness (you can see the inside of her right ear is a bit pink) So we'll be seeing the vet again this week. I know skin conditions can be really hard to diagnosis, but I hope they can figure something out to give her some relief.
Fox squirrels at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Wednesday January 11th, 2023. It is also the day I make sure I hook up my mange patients with their medicated pecans. Some of them are starting to show some good improvement, and that is nice. Here is wishing you joy, health and peace wherever you are.
Yuba's nightly portrait for 15 January 2021. He's in the kitchen after having eaten his nightly snack (I'll have to post a picture of them provided my memory works long enough for me to do so). His expression indicates he thought his snack wasn't enough... He is always welcome to eat the medicated food we get from the vet to help him reduce weight...

Back Story ......................
Alright I'll start at the beginning and go from there.
Today is a special day, why you ask ?
Well it's No# 1 Wife's Birthday ....... ;-)
So last night being a good husband I asked her in advance what she would like for her B-Day ?
Her quick reply was to go with me in the morning and see "All" the dogs on my route.
So I went over the plans to make certain there wouldn't be any confusion during our journey, and to make sure there was enough supplies on board.
First stop is at The Dog Palace to feed the Browns and Leroy Crew.
That was agreed upon as long as there is enough time set aside to clean up Ding Bat, Mama and of course Mr Brown, agreed.
Second stop is way up in the jungle to feed and clean Python Polly, agreed.
Third stop is to feed Tri-Pod, 1-i-A and Little Black Bear, agreed.
Fourth stop is to find, feed, and medicated Lucky Lucy, agreed.
With everything agreed on we left just after 5:30AM with a bunch of food and backup medications.
Roads were dry for the most part, sky is gray an overcast but no rain to deal with.
All three Browns were waiting and went completely bananas when they saw just who I had brought along..Ding Bat really likes No# 1 Wife......So do I .....;-)
After they finished up their breakfast The Browns escorted me through the DMZ and stopped at the boundary line.
Now it's The Leroy Crews time to go absolutely bananas .
Yelling, jumping, licking, pocking, back flips, etc etc .........;-)
Messed around with them for a short time and then once again was escorted from the boundary line through the DMZ and back to where No# 1 was waiting with the cleaning kit... Everybody had their ears cleaned, Mama didn't like it but Mr B and Betty love the attention.
Job was wrapped up, mounted the scooter and hit the road heading North to see Python Polly.
FYI.. These roads really suck, even in a vehicle so now imagine on a small bike loaded to the hilt with two people ......;-(
As you can see in the photo Polly was overjoyed when we pulled in.
More jumping, worming, licking, yelling etc etc ..;-)
The guard is always just as happy to see us too. He told No# 1 Wife they were having problems with a number of King & Siam Cobras lately. I asked about the pythons ? He smiled and said "Always Python Trouble !" .
Polly was taken care of and once again we were traveling down the patched up roads on the way to see Mr Tri-Pod and Crew.
Sometime later we pulled into see Mr T who by chance was also waiting for us. More jumping and over exuberance from Mr T, 1-i-A and Little Black Bear.
Soon the feeding began, all is well.
Now our planned last stop was to find Lucky Lucy and see if she is still with the living ?
Surprisingly we did find her but not in very good shape.
She was laying just off the side of the road, very weak, disoriented and was unable to control her bowels.
Took a long time, finally she was able to stand but still very frightened of everything. It was as if she didn't remember who we were.
That's ok we just wanted to get some more quality food and additional medications in her, and that did happen but we needed more fresh cooked chicken meat.
No# 1 looked at me and said "I know what your thinking"
My reply "What am I thinking ?"
No# 1 " I know you know that I know what your thinking"
My reply" How do you know that ?"
Her reply "How many pieces of BBQ chicken are you going to go get for Lucy ?"
My reply " I have enough for 10 pieces"
Her reply "I'll wait here, hurry !"
I hurried and soon returned with the chicken .
My guess is tomorrow we will head back out to find Lucy and see if she is still with us ?
If not, so be it, but if she is still hanging on we'll give her some more food and meds .
You might have noticed the photos were all loaded backwards from last to first.
If you think about it, it's OK cuz there really isn't any rules other then the rule of survival .............
Thank you all for taking the time to read this story and view the photos.
This is just a small piece of the world we live in here in the Thai jungles.
A big thank you for leaving your words ...;-)

Thank You.

Mange is a parasite infection, caused by a mite. Most wild canines are exposed to mange it only manifests when the animal is under stress or has another underlying health condition. The foxes who lived in this area became very stressed when a large part of their territory was bulldozed. Several of the foxes became infected badly with mange. I personally medicated, and cured over six foxes. The hardest one was dear Butterscotch who got infected with mange in the heart of cold winter. In order to treat her I had to sit out in sub-zero temps. Mange causes great suffering and is a very slow death. Sad as it is easily cured. This is dear Kaboodle with full blown mange, in the previous photo he is totally recovered.
For a change in cover photo only. This was originally set up for my Facebook cover photo, not sure if it works as well here.
Sunday Feb 9: Gosh! Had no idea this would make Explore. Thanks all for the views if I had any idea I would have put a better copy of this photo on here. As it is I just dropped the copy that was set up for Facebook so I could try it as a cover photo.
For those who might be interested here's info about Solo. We call him Solo. This is the coyote that nearly died a few years back due to the ravages of mange. I finally resorted to do or die treatment for his condition and medicated him, adding it to canned dog food. He spent the cold winter months during the time he was without fur sleeping in our barn at night. Much to our surprise the mules and donk pretty much tolerated his sharing their quarters. He had coyote brethren that he hung out with before he became so ill but during that time they deserted him and he has been solo since that time. He's not a pet and we don't consider him one but he spends a lot of time on our property - perhaps he feels welcome and safe here.
Solo, you have always been a star to me but now you are one for others too! Thanks again everyone.

So i've been kinda lost.
I've been busy with some homework and dealing with people who haven't been so kind. I need vacation!!!
Some lack of inspiration and insecurities have attacked too so, I hope that's just a don'tknowwhy thing and go away.
Meanwhile let's just medicate with tea.
Greetings.
Just in case you thought you knew what was coming next, I don't even know what sets and groups to put this one in :)
No photoshop trickery required either, just sunshine and a shiny black table.
Thanks again for all the well wishes, i'm crossing everything possible that the hole in my mouth is healing, i got a dry socket last time round and that made the whole extraction thing seem like a fun day out. Nothing like having the bones and nerves exposed to test out your pain thresholds.

We had been walking across the vast crystal-lit cavern for about an hour before I noticed a darker corner where no crystals grew. I stopped, unsure what to make of it, and Djiimi also halted. I searched around and found a rock, intending to throw it, but before I could test the dark zone's safety the frog hopped ahead of us and into the dim recess. Djiimi cried out- (so it was hers?) but the shadowy frog-shaped outline squatted on the dark side, unscathed. Cautiously, we followed it. Once within the darker area my eyes adjusted and it became apparent what had caused the absence of illumination: most of the crystals had been uprooted or shattered. Djiimi looked at me.
"Something big did this."
I did not answer her but wandered a little farther into the crevasse. Dimly I could perceive a faint blue line glowing softly in the distance.
"Come on," I said, "I see something."
She hesitated but I was adamant, and a short while
later we stood on one side of a thin stream of luminescent liquid crystal. On the other side was a cave. Bones were littered around the entrance, interspersed by the occasional crystal stump. Now that I have time to think about it, the predator that lived within must have destroyed the glowing crystals so it would have an easier time catching prey in darkness. My eyes were drawn to a scrap of fabric outside the entrance, then to a skull nearby. I gasped, and Djiimi leaped the stream to inspect it.
"Don't worry," she said quickly, "this skull is months old."
"Then Quane must be inside,"
I murmured.
Wordlessly we entered the inky-black opening.
Sorry this took so long, my poor old cat got a bacterial infection and peed in my lightbox, so things had to wait while I got a new one and she was medicated. : /
Anyway, I have something BIG to upload soon, besides making more techno-abstract stuff. I hope you enjoy! :D

Hibiscus

Hibiscus (/hɨˈbɪskəs/ or /haɪˈbɪskəs/) is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. It is quite large, containing several hundred species that are native to warm-temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are often noted for their showy flowers and are commonly known simply as hibiscus, or less widely known as rose mallow. The genus includes both annual and perennial herbaceous plants, as well as woody shrubs and small trees. The generic name is derived from the Greek word ἱβίσκος (hibískos), which was the name Pedanius Dioscorides (ca. 40–90) gave to Althaea officinalis.
Description:
The leaves are alternate, ovate to lanceolate, often with a toothed or lobed margin. The flowers are large, conspicuous, trumpet-shaped, with five or more petals, color from white to pink, red, orange, purple or yellow, and from 4–18 cm broad. Flower color in certain species, such as H. mutabilis and H. tiliaceus, changes with age.[5] The fruit is a dry five-lobed capsule, containing several seeds in each lobe, which are released when the capsule dehisces (splits open) at maturity. It is of red and white colours. It is an example of complete flowers.
Uses:
Symbolism and culture
Hibiscus species represent nations: Hibiscus syriacus is the national flower of South Korea, and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is the national flower of Malaysia. The hibiscus is the national flower of Haiti. The red hibiscus is the flower of the Hindu goddess Kali, and appears frequently in depictions of her in the art of Bengal, India, often with the goddess and the flower merging in form. The hibiscus is used as an offering to goddess Kali and Lord Ganesha in Hindu worship.
In the Philippines, the gumamela (local name for hibiscus) is used by children as part of a bubble-making pastime. The flowers and leaves are crushed until the sticky juices come out. Hollow papaya stalks are then dipped into this and used as straws for blowing bubbles.
The hibiscus flower is traditionally worn by Tahitian and Hawaiian girls. If the flower is worn behind the left ear, the woman is married or in a relationship. If the flower is worn on the right, she is single or openly available for a relationship. The hibiscus is Hawaii's state flower.
Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie named her first novel Purple Hibiscus after the delicate flower.
The bark of the hibiscus contains strong bast fibres that can be obtained by letting the stripped bark set in the sea to let the organic material rot away.
Landscaping
Many species are grown for their showy flowers or used as landscape shrubs, and are used to attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.
Paper
One species of Hibiscus, known as kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus), is extensively used in paper-making.
Beverage
Main article: Hibiscus tea
The tea made of hibiscus flowers is known by many names in many countries around the world and is served both hot and cold. The beverage is well known for its color, tanginess and flavor.
It is known as bissap in West Africa, agua de jamaica in Mexico and Honduras (the flower being flor de jamaica) and gudhal (गुड़हल) in India. Some refer to it as roselle, a common name for the hibiscus flower. In Jamaica, Trinidad and many other islands in the Caribbean, the drink is known as sorrel (Hibiscus sabdariffa; not to be confused with Rumex acetosa, a species sharing the common name sorrel). In Ghana, the drink is known as soobolo in one of the local languages.
Roselle is typically boiled in an enamel-coated large stock pot as most West Indians believe the metal from aluminum, steel or copper pots will destroy the natural minerals and vitamins.[citation needed]
In Cambodia, a cold beverage can be prepared by first steeping the petals in hot water until the colors are leached from the petals, then adding lime juice (which turns the beverage from dark brown/red to a bright red), sweeteners (sugar/honey) and finally cold water/ice cubes.
In Egypt,[citation needed] Sudan and the Arab world, hibiscus tea is known as karkadé (كركديه), and is served as both a hot and a cold drink.
Food
Dried hibiscus is edible, and it is often a delicacy in Mexico. It can also be candied and used as a garnish.
The roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is used as a vegetable. The species Hibiscus suratensis Linn synonymous to Hibiscus aculeatus G. Don is noted in Visayas Philippines being a souring ingredient for almost all local vegetables and menus. Known as Labog in the Visayan area, (or Labuag/Sapinit in Tagalog), the species is a very good ingredient in cooking native chicken soup. Certain species of hibiscus are also beginning to be used more widely as a natural source of food coloring (E163),[citation needed] and replacement of Red #3 / E127.
Hibiscus species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidopteran species, including Chionodes hibiscella, Hypercompe hambletoni, the nutmeg moth, and the turnip moth.
Health benefits
The tea is popular as a natural diuretic; it contains vitamin C and minerals, and is used traditionally as a mild medicine.
A 2008 USDA study shows consuming hibiscus tea lowers blood pressure in a group of prehypertensive and mildly hypertensive adults. Three cups of tea daily resulted in an average drop of 8.1 mmHg in their systolic blood pressure, compared to a 1.3 mmHg drop in the volunteers who drank the placebo beverage. Study participants with higher blood pressure readings (129 or above) had a greater response to hibiscus tea: their systolic blood pressure went down by 13.2 mmHg. These data support the idea that drinking hibiscus tea in an amount readily incorporated into the diet may play a role in controlling blood pressure, although more research is required.
Studies have demonstrated the anti-hypertensive effects of H. sabdariffa in both humans and animals. It has been proposed that the antihypertensive effects of H. sabdariffa is due to its angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibiting activity. In a randomized, controlled clinical trial involving 39 patients with mild to moderate hypertension, Captopril was compared to an extract of H. sabdariffa for antihypertensive effects. Subjects taking an extract of H.sabdariffa, consumed daily before breakfast for four weeks, found reduction in blood pressure similar to Captopril. Another randomized, placebo clinical trial involving 54 study participants with moderate hypertension demonstrated a reduction in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. However upon discontinuation of treatment, both systolic and diastolic blood pressures were subsequently elevated.
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis has a number of medical uses in Chinese herbology. Lokapure s.g.et al. their research indicates some potential in cosmetic skin care; for example, an extract from the flowers of Hibiscus rosa- sinensis has been shown to function as an anti-solar agent by absorbing ultraviolet radiation.
In the Indian traditional system of medicine, Ayurveda, hibiscus, especially white hibiscus and red hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis), is considered to have medicinal properties. The roots are used to make various concoctions believed to cure ailments such as cough, hair loss or hair greying. As a hair treatment, the flowers are boiled in oil along with other spices to make a medicated hair oil. The leaves and flowers are ground into a fine paste with a little water, and the resulting lathery paste is used as a shampoo plus conditioner.
Hibiscus tea also contains bioflavonoids, which are believed to help prevent an increase in LDL cholesterol, which can increase the buildup of plaque in the arteries.
A previous animal study demonstrated the effects of H.sabdariffa extract on atherosclerosis in rabbits. Notably, a reduction in triglyceride, cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein was observed in rabbits consuming a high cholesterol diet (HCD) in addition to H.sabdariffa extract compared to rabbits only fed HCD, suggesting a beneficial effect.[16] Furthermore, the H. sabdariffa seed is abundant in phytosterol and tocopherol, plant forms of cholesterol that have antioxidant and LDL cholesterol lowering effects.
Precautions and Contraindications:
Pregnancy and Lactation
While the mechanism is not well understood, previous animal studies have demonstrated both an inhibitory effect of H. sabdariffa on muscle tone and the anti-fertility effects of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, respectively. The extract of H. sabdariffa has been shown to stimulate contraction of the rat bladder and uterus; the H.rosa-sinensis extract has exhibited contraceptive effects in the form of estrogen activity in rats. These findings have not been observed in humans. The Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is also thought to have emmenagogue effects which can stimulate menstruation and, in some women, cause an abortion. Due to the documented adverse effects in animal studies and the reported pharmacological properties, the H. sabdariffa and H.rosa-sinensis are not recommended for use during pregnancy. Additionally, they are not recommended while breastfeeding due to the lack of reliable information on its safety and use.
Contraindications
No contraindications have been identified.
Adverse Effects
Drug Interactions
It is postulated that H. sabdariffa interacts with diclofenac, chloroquine and acetaminophen by altering the pharmacokinetics. In healthy human volunteers, the H. sabdariffa extract was found to reduce the excretion of diclofenac upon co-administration. Additionally, co-administration of Karkade (H. sabdariffa), a common Sudanese beverage, was found to reduce chloroquine bioavailability. However, no statistically significant changes were observed in the pharmacokinetics of acetaminophen when administered with the Zobo (H.sabdariffa) drink. Further studies are needed to demonstrate clinical significance.
Species:
In temperate zones, probably the most commonly grown ornamental species is Hibiscus syriacus, the common garden hibiscus, also known in some areas as the "Rose of Althea" or "Rose of Sharon" (but not to be confused with the unrelated Hypericum calycinum, also called "Rose of Sharon"). In tropical and subtropical areas, the Chinese hibiscus (H. rosa-sinensis), with its many showy hybrids, is the most popular hibiscus.

I play the piano since I惴 a little child and six years ago, as our band was dissolved, I started to write own pieces on the piano. I am very happy to have found my vocation as a solo piano player because I just love this instrument! I always loved the power of music and how it can bring people joy - or ease their pain - just by listening to it. That愀 magic for me; magic that can愒 be expressed with words. :) Follow Dani: ift.tt/29qMZxm www.youtube.com/channel/UCkWmGqs7QMvYQzW_RHw0yVg Final Exams - Final Exam study time is a very stressful time of year and time in your life, that's why listening to our amazing study music is perfect. He looks and acts like a bunny sometimes. Cutiepie :)
Bad news.. It looks like Dennis have epilepsy. He had a seizure yesterday, and he's had one or two before too.
He just stood there, begging for food, when he started acting weird. I got him out from under the table and my boyfriend got Kajsa away from us. Dennis was shaking, panting, stiff and wobbly. He looked scared and had huge eyes. I could get in contact with him, but only now and then.
It felt like an hour, but it lasted only 2-3 minutes. It's a mild seizure (thankfully!), but I was soooo scared. I thought about losing him. I really, REALLY don't want to lose my very best friend in the whole world!
He's alright now though. He was alright after the seizure yesterday too. :) I'll call the vet tomorrow so we can get some bloodwork done, and maybe get a x-ray of his bladder. (Since he's got calcium oxalate bladder stones.) I don't think I'll medicate him yet, if it is epilepsy.. The seizures doesn't last long, and he don't get them often.
I love my little boy! I hope he lives until he's really old!

Taken in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan today - Thursday January 16th, 2020. I did see one the squirrel over on the Law Quad who has mange. I was able to give her (or maybe him) the medicated pecan today. And since she has started the medication - she needs a name. I am going to call her Eleanor - for Eleanor Shellstrop from TV's "The Good Place." On the first episode - Eleanor (played by Kristen Bell) wore a Michigan Law t-shirt. So that makes sense. ANYWAY - This is Eleanor and she started her medication regimen today.
Nice early Summer day in Ann Arbor. Saw lots of fox squirrels out and about in Ann Arbor on Tuesday July 9th, 2019 at the University of Michigan. So all sorts of things going on. I was about to see "Patches O'Houlihan" today - and was able to give her the second medicated pecan that she needs. I did not see her yesterday and was nervous. Patches is a squirrel who had lost most of her fur because of mange on the Law Quad. I reached out to the Friends of Wildlife Michigan and they connected me with someone who has worked up some medicated pecans for me to feed the squirrels. I did see "Justin" - named for the youngest team member on the dodgeball team that Patches coaches - and he has both treatments. I did see "Steve the Pirate" again. He has something on his left paw - and a bald patch on his left side and gets his second pecan on Wednesday. So Patches is not that pretty - but hey - it feels good to do something good for a squirrel friend. I am fairly certain that they are related - they hang out together and I think Justin is Patch's baby.

Abandoned Abused Street Dogs.
Some unexpected things happened today
and we'll get to that soon enough. But first
by 5:45AM I was on the road heading in an
easterly direction. Towards Cambodia to be
more precise.
Warm with dry roads, this is good.Same on
the way home, this is also good .................;-)
Mama & Rocky met me at the gate, big toe
licking, crashing and overall loony toonies.
As we were going up the first set of steps
at The Dog Palace Broken Tail Puppy was
spotted laying in the weeds in the courtyard.
Usually he's zipping all around us waiting for
a head rub or a bowl of kibble, not today he
just watched us in route to The Bingo Room.
15 minutes later feed bags are packed and
off we go still heading in an easterly direction
towards the concrete walking bridge. Of course
both dogs race past me and are waiting on the far
side of the bridge. And yes the monkeys had split !
Legs The Zoomer is so excited to see me as she zips
past barely touching my hand, does a 180 degree turn
and does it again. That's how my morning starts out here
at The Monkey Temple. So what comes next ? Medication
time is what's next.Positioned myself on the wooden table
you've seen many times on The Nurse Nuns porch.Next to
me is Tinker Bell with her pink lizard tongue darting about as
if my ear is a bulls-eye.She did hit her target a couple of times.
One by one, all the dogs received their monthly medications.
Next stop is The Spirit House where the 3 Musketeers have
big fun consuming pieces of hot-dogs. Each piece is cut the
size of a nickel so this takes awhile and they love doing it.
Went down to The Hooligans Turf, fed them, medicated them
then headed back to pickup Mama waiting on the boundary.
Now this next part is a very first..Mama & I always walk back
to The Dog Palace for a rest. This time Mama wouldn't do it !
Figured she'd show up in due time but this one did puzzle me.
Before starting up the stairs at The Dog Palace I glanced over
at Broken Tail Puppy. His head was in a precarious position ?
Walking over to help him I could tell he was no longer with us.
Reached down an placed my hand on his chest. Slightly warm
but no breathing plus his tongue was hanging out, dull eyes.
BTP is now residing with others in the big kennel in the sky..;-(
R.I.P. - BTP, I'm Crying.
Mama finally showed up but she was peeking around the
corner for some time before she'd enter the court yard.
When she did enter, Mama laid down about 5 meters
from BTP with her head gently resting on her paws.
Alright, couple hours later I'm home where no# 1
tells me it's time to do another trap-line run.
Some of you may remember sometime back when I was
doing "trap-line runs" closer to our home. Remember ?
Well there's a local temple with 20-30 stray dogs
that we have been feeding and medicating
for the last 3 or 4 months. Cooked rice
with mixed fish plus odds an ends.
This afternoon no# 1 and a niece fed the dogs and washed
eleven new puppies that were covered with stinky stuff !
No# 1 gave me a pass this afternoon but expects my
participation in the near future. So far our niece has
been filling in for me but they need a photo man.
OK, enough for today, I'm burned out .......;-)
Thank You.

During the procession of enthronement of the newly restored image of Our Indu I became teary eyed when after the procession everyone paid homage to the Indu, they all wanted to have some flowers from her andas, everyone wanted to have a glimpse of her, take photos, touch her hands and face even (which is a no no) but not a single soul went for the Del Perdon. Seeing what is happening… no matter how I love the Indu, I left her side and went by the andas of the Senyor. I kissed his foot and promised that if the image would visit our home I would do the best I could to enhance his features.
When I first visited the Indu and saw the Del Perdon, what strikes me most was the way he tenderly looks at you from the altar. ” If only someone could enhance this image”… he perfectly stares at anyone who is looking from below. It is so amazing when a revered image has this special connection on an individual. It is as if he stares and about to say something to you…
After the holy week of this year, Nanay Baby and friends from Baliti visited me here at home. With them is the image of the Santo Cristo del Perdon. I found it hard to schedule when to start the re-carving coz He came at a time when we were all busy. Papang and Mamang were busy packing then for their out of the country vacation. My bro Doc. Paul was as always busy with work. I was left running the house hold chores and instructing ate Ely on what to do and not do. Coupled with the massive responsibility at home was the fact that I had been experiencing pain at my lower back that sometimes it is too painful to bear. I can’t sit longer than 20min or even less… I can’t stand for long periods either. When I lie I must always lay flat coz even some minor twist causes pain. I medicated, saw my doctor and had a few therapy sessions.
Time flew too fast. My friend reminded me that the May feast of the Indu and Senyor is on a third Saturday of May. I only have a few days left, even if I could still feel some pain I felt that I have no choice but to sit and start the re-carving so as I could fulfill a promise.
I prepared myself for the task. I had my nine days of prayer, fasting and abstinence. Sat and started the re-carving. Miraculously whenever I sit and extend my working hours for the image I felt no pain. There is that slight discomfort but what I felt whenever I held the image I do not consider as painful. Knowing how bagal I am, it was also wonderful to note that this particular image was my fastest work of re-carving to date. :c)
I decided to re-carve the head rather than change it to a new one. I also would want for Him to resemble antique images of Christ para bumagay ang ukit nya sa Indu. I employed the binihon type of balbas and had the eyes deeply set and pinalaki ko ng bahagya ang mga talukap-mata gaya ng sa Indu para ma retain ang Filipino and asian influence ng ukit… the encarna was inspired by a Santo Cristo image that I borrowed from Tatang Paniong of Baliti.
Miracles were also sent to us while working on the Del Perdon… the Cofradia of Virgen dela Soledad and the Dalaw Soledad could attest to that… hehe. (wink wink)
May 12, the image finally returned home. I was so thankful that the parishioners finally again began to revere their image of The Santo Cristo Del Perdon. I txted my mother that i already finished what we promised, I told her that finally we have a gift to the people of Baliti in return for their unending prayers for our family. She lovingly noted that, “Oh, the Indu celebrated Mothers’ day with her Son! How wonderfull!”
Again, special thanks go to Ate Ely who lovingly cooked our meals for us whenever I can’t be at my other office… our kitchen. Hehehe. For fixing my ‘kalat’ whenever I’m too tired to do so. For taking care of my plants for a few days (even if na-murder nya ang iba kong collection ng succulents. Grrrr. Haha) most especially for bearing with my ‘Kasungitan.’ Hahahaha
To Mark; who stayed for a few days to pay homage to the Sto. Cristo del Perdon by washing our dishes, for being our runner whenever we need to buy some materials, most especially for doing the final sanding of the Del Perdon before I laid out the encarna.
Maraming maraming salamat sa lahat ng nagdasal at nag ayuno kasama namin.
May all of you who see this image and prayed insistently be answered if your prayers are pleasing to the Lord and if it is for His greater glory.
AMEN.
VIVA STO. CRISTO DEL PERDON!!! VIVA!!!

Back Story ..................
Pouring rain before daylight, pouring rain at day light.
Pouring rain on the ride out to The Dog Palace and yes
it was pouring rain while at The Dog Palace.
Oh, lets not forget it was pouring rain on the way home !
Took a long time to get there this morning as trucks and
cars raced past sending up wave after wave of spray !
Same for the ride back. Lots of water covering the road
which made it impossible to see the pot holes, and there
are many deep ones ! Ggeerrrrrrr ! ...;-(~
Started to question myself as to just what is it I'm doing ?
No# 1 wife's words started to make some sense......
"Your a young monkey boy with no brain 4 thinking"
Pulled into The Dog Palace real slow trying my best to
avoid the deep muddy holes in the driveway !
Mama raced out from behind the old rusty gate, touched
my leg then ran back under cover. It's pouring rain !!!
While serving Mama her breakfast I see some movement
out of the corner of my eye. Movement is coming from the
top of the stairs on the 2nd floor. It's Mr Blind Man Brown.
Called him but he was unsure of himself and wouldn't come
down the stairs. Went around the corner so now I'm at the
base of the stairs looking up. Usually this section of stairs is
no big deal for Mr B but today was way different.
It's raining so hard water is cascading down the steps.
Mr B being blind feels this on his paws and doesn't want to
take a chance. Made an executive decision and once again changed the mornings routine.
Put Mr Blind Man Browns food in his tray then along with Mama
we took his food up to him on the 2nd floor.
This photo is taken while straddling Mr B as he eats his meal.
He likes it when I stand over him with both my legs rubbing on
both sides of his big body. IMO, he knows no monkeys are going to mess with him while he's eating, seems to calm him.
So from here Mama and I go back down stairs and prepare the other dog food bags. When I took off for The DMZ Mama
stayed in the dinning area watching me leave, smart dog.
Pulled out my emergency umbrella, about the size of a Frisbee
and went 4 it. Water an mud over my ankles in many places.
Arrived at the big drum, no Leroy Crew ! Whistled, nothing !
OK, circled around and found them with Honey in a dry spot.
Handed Honeys food bag to The Head Monk and along with
Girl Friend and Tuff Guy we went back to the big drum............
Don't even know why I was carrying this umbrella over my
head cuz it feels like I just came out of the swamp soaking wet.
Still had lots to do so no need to start sniveling now, keep going.
Back at The Dog Palace another resupply was done then off
to The Nuns Place.
This time Mama was right beside me. As we passed The Kind Monks I could see his roll up door was up maybe 6-7 inches.
He had to do that as the rain is coming down so hard it would
be blowing into his eating area.
Now this next part is important.....
Stuffed inside my shirt was Apollos meal and special medicated shampoo I had promised The Monk 2 days ago.
As mama and I walked past the shampoo and meal were slid under the door. I could hear him saying thank you in Thai.
We kept right on going towards the cement walking bridge.
Next photo will give you an idea of the intensity of the rain.
Once we had crossed the bridge I could see way down the road to The Nuns Place. No dogs were waiting in the road.
Upon our arrival all the dogs, one monk and two nuns were on the porch, Mama and I soon joined them giving us shelter from the unrelenting monsoon storm .
.
Dogs are fed and checked over carefully, everyone's doing well. The Nuns and Monk are talking a mile a minute while pointing at the dog food, me, camera and each dog, they are very happy with this new arrangement, so am I .. ;-)
While everybody is busy on the porch Mama and I take off back to The Kind Monks Place. He was big time happy with the shampoo. Apollo was also big time happy like a young puppy playing with me and the monk . Mama played a little bit with Apollo. Didn't see any open sores and a little peach fuzz has started to grow where no hair was before starting his meds.
Didn't stay to long as wind and rain was blowing into the opening where the roll up door is.
Back at The Dog Palace I took The Think Tank Belt off and placed it on the table where Mama was laying. I'm sitting next to her in the blue plastic chair.
All of the sudden Mamas nose comes up high as she is air scenting something across the courtyard. Now remember rain is coming down monsoon style, how she could smell anything is proof to a dogs olfactory's extraordinary capabilities .
She took off with her hackles up and a growl coming from her throat . I stayed in the blue plastic chair as this position commands a view of most everything except way up on top of the roof. Plus it's raining and my body is worn out. But I didn't stay long before taking off to do my own investigation.
Never did figure out what it was that Mama was so pissed off about . She covered the 1st floor then up the stairs to the 2nd.
Just out of curiosity I left the blue plastic chair and started counting my steps around the 1st floor. From the chair around the 1st floor and back to the chair is 300 steps. That's like making a square circle. And my stride is almost 3 feet.
By 10:30AM the rain wasn't slowing down at all so it was time to just go do it and head home. That was not fun at all ....;-0~
Most likely I will be home tomorrow, but if it's dry I might try to see Mr Tri-Pod. That's only if it's dry!........................

Ran onto campus for my 14th "Squirrel Run" at the University of Michigan since our work from home started to combat COVID-19. I was on campus on a beautiful June day - Friday June 12th, 2020. I did see a good number of juveniles making their way out in the world and their mommas. I did see a number of squirrels that were not doing well. Over on the Law Quad, there were a number that had mange in varying severities. I was able to hook up a number of them with my medicated pecans. I did see a juvenile near Mason Hall who was not doing well. I got that little one a pecan, but not completely sure that she got it. I did see Lefty - so that was good. At a personal level, the squirrels cheer me up. They always do. Sending love and virtual hugs from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Hospital 126 (MSCh 126) is a large hospital based at the North end of Priypat.
The basement contains liquidators uniforms which are highly radioactive. On this note, it is not recommended to go into the basement for this reason alone.
The hospital is a vast complex occupying the largest part of the first micro-district of Pripyat. The building is adorned with huge letters on its roof that read: "??????'? ?????? - ????????? ??????" or “health of a people - riches of the country”.
It was at this hospital on the 26th April 1986 that the first victims of the disaster were delivered by ambulance: firemen and personnel of the Chernobyl Powerplant. The majority of those had already received deadly doses of external and internal radiation also having severe skin burning from beta radiation. After such doses, most did not survive; they still stood up, tried to joke about it but the days or even hours of their lives were already numbered.
Hospitals are not a cheery place to be but this one was full of dereliction, dark corridors, doors slamming with the wind. Ghosts of the past still haunting this building.
The victims stayed here less than a day; were then transported to Kiev, and then by plane to Moscow. Everybody, except engineer Shashenok, died in hospital, he was the first one to die in the night of April, 26th. There were 6 firemen, 22 powerplant workers who died of sharp radiation sickness in the 6th radiological clinic of Moscow in the course of several months after the initial disaster.
Named for the nearby Pripyat River, Pripyat was founded on 4 February 1970, the ninth nuclear city in the Soviet Union, for the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. It was officially proclaimed a city in 1979, and had grown to a population of 49,360 before being evacuated a few days after the 26 April 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
Though Pripyat is located within the administrative district of Ivankiv Raion, the abandoned city now has a special status within the larger Kiev Oblast (province), being administered directly from Kiev. Pripyat is also supervised by Ukraine's Ministry of Emergencies, which manages activities for the entire Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
Access to Pripyat, unlike cities of military importance, was not restricted before the disaster as nuclear power stations were seen by the Soviet Union as safer than other types of power plants. Nuclear power stations were presented as being an achievement of Soviet engineering, where nuclear power was harnessed for peaceful projects. The slogan "peaceful atom" (Russian: ?????? ????, mirnyj atom) was popular during those times. The original plan had been to build the plant only 25 km (16 mi) from Kiev, but the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, among other bodies, expressed concern about it being too close to the city. As a result, the power station and Pripyat were built at their current locations, about 100 km (62 mi) from Kiev. After the disaster the city of Pripyat was evacuated in two days.
A 35 man (plus guides) trip to the Ukraine exploring Chernobyl, the village, Duga 3, Pripyat and Kiev including Maidan (Independence Square) and observing the peaceful protests underway.
Some new faces, some old, made new friends and generally we were in our elements.
Rhetorical question but did we have a blast? You bet!
Amazing group, top guys. Till the next time!

Quick trip onto campus for my 18th "Squirrel Run" at the University of Michigan since our work from home started to combat COVID-19. Headed in on a hot sunny day - Wednesday July 1st around midday. My squirrel friend Juli noticed a squirrel over at Law who had very bad puffy eyes. This squirrel, who I named Bingo, got the medicated pecan on Monday. She is due for another one early next week. She was moving around pretty well. I might be hopeful, but I think the puffiness around her eyes is going down. I will know more next week. Glad I got to visit my squirrel friends today. At a personal level, the squirrels cheer me up. They always do. Sending love and virtual hugs from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
February 27 - Last day of 2014-2015 dolphin hunting season
Even though every Cove Guardian has been waiting for this, it was a bit unexpected after 10 days without any slaughter and the incessant thirst of blood of the killers but the end of the season has been sounded in Taiji today, Friday February 27th.
"Only" 9 of the killing boats went out this morning while the rest of the crew stayed in the harbour to pick up and store the material of the bloody occupation of this little Japanese town. While a Cove Guardian team was monitoring the hunt of the day, another one was monitoring the harbour where they quickly observed unusual moves. Killing boats, skiffs, trainers, vets, tarps and nets, a lot of bustle in Taiji harbour that turned out to be the preps to put an end to this season of hunt.
Nearly 700 dolphins have been killed and 70 taken captive during this winter since the beginning of September. Today is a "happy" day but it is especially a day to think of all the victims that fell at the hands of the Taiji killers and of all the lovely dolphins detained as prisoners in dolphinariums and other marine lands all over the world. Special thoughts for these animals but also for all the volunteers that have been in Taiji this season and the previous ones to give a voice to the voiceless and to put an end to this insane activity with an infinite patience…
We’ll stand here until they stop !!!

Ben doesn't have much time left -- a few days, maybe a couple weeks if we're lucky -- but for now he's well-medicated, eating and happy to hang out with us.
People who look through keyholes are apt to get the idea that most things are keyhole shaped.

This is Karriem AKA Dream'z my youngest son,
I relate this quote to him because he has ADHD & is Asthmatic, now you give a kid with ADHD some Albuterol & see what you get, LMAO
Anyway they said give him the ADHD meds, me no way!
I've had him tested but they say he doesn't need special classes.
They also noted that on one of the test he scored so high now this was in the 5th grade mind you!, that they couldn't believe it there were adults that didn't come close.
Doc says that most kids with ADHD are borderline genius but the attention isn't right.
Well Karriem is 18 & doing just fine!
I'm proud because he's mine, I never medicated him & there were time's where I had it up to here over how they called me back & forth to school but he's not lost.
He's taught himself how to play the guitar on his own & there is almost nothing you can tell him about a computer.
He didn't get it from me, lol...
It's OK to be different it's OK to be you, because no one else can be it & nobody can live your life for you.

Overmedicated nation USA -36 million people or more are on drugs.
The number one goal of drug makers in dispatching sales
representatives to meet with doctors face-to-face to increase sales by convincing doctors to prescribe drugs off-label for unapproved uses and by saying whatever it takes to achieve that goal.
Big Pharma pays for thousands of speeches by doctors each year because companies can not legally promote off-label uses. So, in other words, the law allows drug makers to hire doctors to do the dirty work that would be illegal for the company itself.
Psychiatry treats people as if they are broken mechanical devices that can be tinkered with by a person who knows much less about the brain than the average mechanic knows about your car.

Her story, from one BC warrior, Ashley Mtichell:
Today marks my one year completion of my breast reconstruction.
I found an incredible, wicked sense of humor on this journey. I also found the typical 'inspriations' didn't work for me. What helped me cope and fight came in very abstract forms. Like the "Hooters" t-shirt I wore in the hospital after my mastectomy.
Oddly enough, the single biggest source of inspiration came from a Bon Jovi concert. Go figure! Approximately November, 2009, on a whim, I had purchased two tickets to their March 2, 2010 concert in Sacramento. Months later when my health changed and a double mastectomy was scheduled I didn't realize that the two events woul overlap. I quickly made the decision that if I was going to live long enough for my son to graduate high school, I would simply not slow down, not get tired, not go to bed...if I just lived my life exactly as if nothing were wrong, 'IT' wouldn't get me.
Due to complications during my mastectomy, my doctor told me I'd be in the hospital about 5-7 days. Since my attitude was nothing would slow me down, I informed him that that wouldn't be possible...I had a Bon Jovi concert to attend. The day of the concert, I met my doctor at the door and told him I was going home. (Okay, so that's the short version of that story...but it's really not that interesting.)
I did, indeed, go to the concert...with my drains and bandages still in place. I am sure I was the only woman at that show with NO boobs....all the other girls had theirs on display - mine were totally gone! But I digress. I was still so heavily medicated that I remember very little of the show. But towards the end of the show Jon Bon Jovi talked about the choices we make based on fear. As best as I remember it, he talked about making choices based on the concept of love being the only rule, which was the introduction to a song called "Love's the Only Rule". The song's message is not to let anyone else tell us what our story will be, what our truth will be, or to accept someone else's rules...what if love were the only rule? The lyrics, in part, are: "You write your truth, I'll write mine. One man's ceiling is another man's sky-high." And with those words, combined with a hefty dose of percoset I thought of my doctors telling me my expectations and thought to myself "F*ck That! I'll write my own truth". (Not sure which surprised me more - my using the 'f' word or the certainty that I was going to win this thing!) Their final song that night was "Living on a Prayer"...I've heard that song a million times on the radio. I like it. But I wouldn't consider it a favorite. Until now. When the music to that song started, I got chills all over and the hair on my arms stood up. Inexplicably, I threw my head back and shouted at the top of my lungs "Bring it on home, baby!" I knew, and sang, every word with Jon and the boys.
I decided that I wouldn't settle for living long enough to see my son graduate from high school. I would live to see HIM become a grandfather. Period. No doctor will tell me what the end of my story will be. He can write his truth, I'll write mine!
My next goal? To see (and remember!) Bon Jovi in concert again. Partly because I want to see if the show is as good when I'm not high on Percoset. And partly to see if I still get chills at the intro to "Living on a Prayer". But mostly, I want to bring this thing full circle...I want to be in the same room again with someone I've never met (or will meet, for that matter) but who changed the way I think and taught me to fight hard for a long life with those I love most. After all, Love's the Only Rule!
And to think I'd never bought a Bon Jovi record in all these years....I don't see the hair, teeth, sex appeal that is written about Jon Bon Jovi. I see a man who had a thought, put it to music and somehow got that message to me at just the right moment.
Next concert, think I'll wear that 'Hooters' t-shirt and take my new boobs out for a night on the town!
You go Ashley!!
Abandoned Abused Street Dogs.
Back Story ......................................
These last few days have been slightly of kilter and I feel
y'all are owed an explanation. So here goes .. ;-)
As one photo shows we were flooded causing a change of plans. Not that we couldn't alter the plans, we're used to doing that. Most importantly it means the regular routine was thrown into a tail spin. Animals are relaxed an in a peaceful mood when the routine is, well, routine.
When a chain of events disrupts their inner physic stress takes over.
Think of it from a dairy farmers perspective.
Just before daybreak he heads out with his favorite dog to roundup the heard. They know the routine and follow single file on the same well worn path towards the milking barn.Always the same cow with the bell around her neck leading the way.
Same frisky dog picking up any young stray that is in the process of learning the simple routine.
Each relaxed cow saunters on into the same stall, sticks her big head in the trough and continues to eat.
Now what do you have here ? Happy cows making happy premium milk. Animals love routine.
When this is disrupted you have disgruntled cows Not making premium quality product. ... Still following my logic ? ...
Now here's some more to think about.............
I'm very aware that the schedule I've been keeping caring for all the abandoned dogs has been taking it's toll on my health.
Knowing this a secret plan was formulated in the back of my mind. What if I go down and can't get up for some length of time?
This is one reason why I have spent a great deal of time with the Nuns & Monks leading through example .
These people are very kind and caring but they live only on handouts from other devoted Buddhists.
So the point is ..........
With the donations you have supplied and what we have in our pockets, medications, food and Veterinarian care has been given to all these abandoned abused street dogs.
Not long ago 10 kilos of dry kibble was delivered to The Nuns.
By doing this I knew it would be rationed out to other Monks and Nuns that have taken up the responsibility of caring for a dog or two. Just before the storms hit the flea, tic, heart-worm pills were given slightly in advance but that's ok.No harm no foul.
Mr Short Monk was and is tending to Mamas every need, that is very important to me !
At the other temple Tri-Pod and Little Black Bear was medicated slightly early as well. A brother-in-law was informed he was to take food to T-Pod and LBB during my absence knowing trouble was on the horizon.
Everyone still with me here ? ....................
Oh, one other important item before I completely forget .
I made sure No# 1 wife had The Nuns phone number, why ?
Simple, a report can be made if there's any problems and we can also hear all the good news too .. ;-)
Don't leave yet here's more stuff you need to know about.
Apollo and Girl Friend were/are feeling very poorly and I feel very guilty by not being able to address this earlier.
Plan was to get a cage and take them one at a time to the Vet in a hired sidecar/motorcycle.
Within the hour I will be going back to the dog cage vendor that was closed yesterday when I tried. Now that still doesn't mean I'll find the proper size but the point is I am doing the best I can to resolve Apollo and GF's health issues .
Bottom line is the Medical Doctor told me time for a brake from the schedule I've been keeping. If I don't Mother Nature is going to give me a brake that I will not like!
With that said, plan is to go out and see Mama and the rest of the monkey temple dogs tomorrow. Not real early, just a casual trip out if it's Not raining.
If I find a cage today I'll let y'all know about a change in the plans.
One more thing, a nephew maybe coming out to live with us again to help me with this on going dog saga.
All this is taking a huge load off my back and greatly appreciated.
My hands are tired of typing and I do need to check on the dog cage before any rain starts.
Thanks for coming by and I'll answer all the comments upon my return................ Thank Again .............. Jon&Crew .............
.

I hate the way, the way, I always miss you..........
Song: G-Eazy - Hate The Way (Official Video) ft. blackbear
www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCQ6uf0HTGw
Lyrics
Yeah, I hate the way, the way, I always miss you
Yeah, I know I'm crazy, but you're sick too
Even after everything we've been through
Thought I was the one with all the issues
And every time I leave, it's too long
And every time I leave, it's all wrong (You know)
I hate the way, the way, I always miss you (I hate the way, the way, I always miss you)
Yeah
Made a promise to myself, a promise I should stick to
Talking to myself, I said I promise I would quit you
I've been trying to let go but it's powerful it grips you
First you think you got control until I see you can't resist you
Know I got my issues, some I won't admit to
No one's got the answers, everybody wants to fix you
Got this magic 8 ball, but I ain't got no crystal
Just don't fall in Courtney Love, and don't go Cobain with no pistol
It don't take a psychic or a scientist to know that
And why the fuck the minute I see you, I always go back?
The definition of "insanity" is, yeah I know that
I had a hundred chances to move on I always, I always blow that
Yeah, I can't seem to find out what's the issue
See your face on my explore and then I miss you
Yeah, I said I was finished fucking with you
I said I hate the fucking way I always, miss you (Miss you)
Yeah, I know I'm crazy but you're sick too
Even after everything we've been through
Thought I was the one with all the issues
And every time I leave, it's too long
And every time I leave, it's all wrong
I hate the way, the way, I always miss you (I hate the way, the way, I always miss you)
Lie to myself every time I say that I'm done with you
Every day without you passes slower than one with you
Two days passed, this feelin' like a week, this shit is stressful
I swear all these helping hands ain't even helpful
Wishing I was closer to you, wish you wasn't distant
Wishing I was with you still, wish this shit was different
Wishing we could travel back in time and we can switch it
All this pain, wishing it was something that could fix it
Medicate myself different substances I mix it
Set my limit, try to draw the line and then she sniffs it
Never lied, I give you my word and then you twist it
Fights outside the club I think the paparazzi, think the paparazzi flicked it
Still can't seem to find out what's the issue
Hate the way you talking when you with your friends too
They don't know about the shit we've been through
I said I hate the fucking way I always, miss you (Miss you)
Yeah, I know I'm crazy but you're sick too
Even after everything we've been through
Thought I was the one with all the issues
And every time I leave, it's too long
And every time I leave, it's all wrong
I hate the way, the way, I always miss you (I hate the way, the way, I always miss you)
I hate the way, the way, I always miss you
(I hate the way, the way, I always miss you)
I hate the way, the way, I always miss you

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?
I was looking through a batch of my photos from about 9 years ago, and ran across this adorable shot of my granddaughter standing on an unusual bench that had a sculpture of a man reading to a woman and two children. I thought my granddaughter looked incredibly cute with her striped leggings and little hat and impish smile.
I didn't actually take this picture of her. My daughter did. Some of the other things my daughter had listed as being in the file were things that were in Portland when they visited up there. Since I had never seen this sculpture/bench I guessed it was probably in the Portland area somewhere. I had intended to ask my daughter if she remembered where it was; so I could say so when I posted it to Flickr.
I used to live in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon USA, but many years ago. I was pretty familiar with much of the city, but not all, and certainly not up on all the changes, good or bad as far as beautification, construction, demolition etc. Trust me, much has changed in the ensuing decades since I was a resident and business owner.
I now live in Springfield, which is a city bordering Eugene. I had some business I needed to attend to in Eugene, and I kind of remembered the location of the office, from years past, but not exactly. I was navigating some one-way streets, and checking out parking spots. Those of you who know me can guess that, after parking, I was trying to take pictures of the hanging baskets of flowers, and some really unique windows etc. The bus station had changed. The parking garage where I had submitted about 12 or 14 names for a contest when they named it, had changed. By the way, I didn't win the contest but the newspaper did print several of my ideas in a news article about it. The mural where I took some of my most favorite photos of my daughter roughly 37 years ago was gone. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, just the office where I needed to go for an appointment.
When I finished my appointment, I went back down the street where I had parked my truck. All my pictures so far that day had been from my parking space south a block or so. I decided to keep walking past my truck to the north a little bit, to see if there were a few more shots I should take before I left for home.
Having continued on down the sidewalk no more than about 30 feet, I spotted the edge of public plaza and part of a sculpture. Most of the plaza was hidden from my view because of the corner of a large building. I said to myself, "Self, you don't suppose that could be the bench like my granddaughter was standing on?" I kept walking toward it, and as my perspective changed, all of it appeared and lo and behold, it was the exact bench! It never dawned on me that it was located in Eugene. What are the chances I would see a photo of something taken over 9 years ago, wonder where it was taken, have my first appointment in Eugene in many, many years, be taking pictures, and have the very bench come into view within half a block of where I had to go?
Unfortunately, I wanted to take a photo of it empty, but a man was lying prone, stoned and talking loudly to himself, possibly a self-medicated schizophrenic person, with his paraphernalia right by him. He was spread out from the knee of the woman to the knee of the man. Of course, I'm not a doctor, but it occurred to me that perhaps I shouldn't ask him to move so I could take a picture of just the bench. It just didn't seem safe or wise to interact with him. Besides, I don't really need a picture of the bench in 2016 when I already had this little cutie pie on it in 2007.

P.S. This little imp will graduate from High School in less than 2 weeks from now (written June 5. almost midnight in year 2023. She is my only grandchild and I love her immensely.
Noah had a medicated bath today while I was in Boston. Matt said he was shaking and frightened through the whole ordeal. (Noah knows an amateur bather when he meets one). Anyhooo ... Matt told me that at one point Tucker moved right in, went up to Noah and compassionately licked his face.
Between you, me, and the lamp post, on election night Tucker jumped up and licked the tears off my face, then jumped on me and sagged over my shoulder — refusing to leave. This big white fella is one magnificent bundle of love. If you have any sort of extra space in your world and/or emptiness in your heart, I recommend that you make a place for a dog or cat.

Abandoned Abused Street Dogs.
Left before 5AM and arrived at the temple by 6:18AM.
Roads were soaked with many mud-puddles but it
never rained. First thing was to find Mr Leg-Man
and do a dog kibble hand-off then race over
to The Dog Palace where Mama & Rocky
were waiting. Lots of singing & toe-
licking and dancing took place.
In The Bingo Room The Tube is loaded.
Camera settings are checked while
filling my pockets with medicine
and medications for the dogs.
Now we're ready to roll.
Ran into Molly while going through The DMZ.
She too was talking an filled with excitement.
Rocky waited for me on The Broken Walking Bridge.
Mama had already crossed and was doing battle
with a few primates lingering about on the road.
Little Mickey met up with us just as we were
arriving at The Nuns Bungalows. Now it's
time to start the first of the monthly
medications while checking for
dings and divots. A-OK ;-)~
Next stop is at The Spirit House where
we did the same same but no different.
In due time Mama & Rocky escorted
me to The Hooligans boundary line.
Mr Ed was fed, as all the crazy dogs
received their monthly medications.
Miss Gibbon had her big moody bag
today, but she still received her food.
The Guppies got a bunch of food too.
Eventually Mama, Rocky and I ended
up back at The Dog Palace where Miss
Molly & Crew were fed and medicated.
My body was sending warning messages
that my energy level was dropping fast.
With Mama & Rocky running alongside
the bike we raced back over to the nuns
where they were brushed and I took a
quick field bath in their water bucket.
20 minutes later I headed home ;-)
Upon my arrival 3 more silly dogs
had to do an inspection before
I was allowed to shower and
climb back into bed, The End.
FYI ---
IMO,
Mr Little Larry is real sick.
Nothing I can do right now.
Donations won't be here till
early next week and my own
health is a major factor as well.
Driving the scooter/sidecar really
took a lot out of me on Monday &
the loaner car is sitting with flat tires.

Abandoned Abused Street Dogs.
Back Story .........................................
3:20AM came quicker then planned.
Dark and cold out, there was plenty
to keep me busy for the next hour.
Left around 4:40AM with a small cooler strapped to
the scooter just behind me. 10 kilo bag of kibble is
resting between my legs which are used as clamps
keeping the bag from moving around.Another 2 kilo
bag of kibble is strapped into the front basket.
Think Tank Speed Freak camera bag is across my chest.
Helmet and dust mask is in place. Two t-shirts, one cotton
shirt, jacket and long pants are covering my old carcass.
Time to hit the road with a slight pink hue peeking over the
eastern horizon. Another 50 minutes and it will be daylight.
Passed the western entry that is my usual route into the monkey temple. Instead I continued on circumventing
the temple area and entered through the southern entrance.
Why you ask ?
Simple, needed to drop off the 10 kilo bag of kibble at the nuns.
From there with Rocky running along side we made our way
past The Leroy Crews area and picked up Mama on the way
into The Dog Palace. Huge Big Excitement ... ;-)~~~
Mama was fed, brushed and any new wounds or divots were
medicated. Made up special bags of food for the Hooligans.
Mama an Rocky escorted me across the cement walking
bridge on our way to the care for the said Hooligans.
Same Same But Different action took place at the boundary .
OK, Now pay close attention cuz here comes some news.
Using sign language with bits an pieces of "tinglish" it has
been decided the first part of March Angel Eyes and 2 Tone
will be spayed. One at a time of course as both dogs live with
the head monk and he can't be overwhelmed.
By the way, Boo Boo is doing just fine, full of piss an vinegar.
After finishing with the Hooligans, Mama and I split picking
up Rocky plus Legs on our way to the Spirit House.
Today we're taking backup muscle, Mr Rocky .. ;-)~
As you can see in this photo, Mama is on the front line while
Rocky is sitting right next to me. Legs is zooming about.
One reason Rocky is so close is because primates are
attempting to pull a flanking maneuver. Rocky put an
end to that monkey business like pronto !
More photos of today's adventure will be posted tomorrow.
Right now my bones are real worn out and I need breakfast.

Taken in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan on a snowy Winter's day - Wednesday February 12th, 2020. One squirrel over by Social Work seems to have some puffiness in his eyes - I hope it does not get worse. Saw another with mange on the Diag - but he only got a bit of the medicated pecan before running off!

Abandoned Abused Street Dogs.
5:30AM and I'm on the road heading in
an easterly direction. It's raining hard !!
This sucks, but my discomforts are not
important, the monthly medications for
the temple dogs are what's important !
As daylight made it's appearance I could
see the entire sky was an angry dark gray.
There was no escaping the heavy monsoon.
Down shifting then leaning left I coasted onto
the monkey temples sacred ground. Now here
is the part I've learned over the many years that
I've been coming here. When it's been raining for
so many days, and it is still raining upon my arrival,
and there's a whole bunch of monkeys eating leaves
this early in the morning, that means no tourists have
been here and the primates will be really really crazy !!
Mamas keen ears could hear me open The Dog Palace
gate from 100 meters across the swamp.Even with all the
noise from the downpour and the noise from the monkeys
she zeroed right in on one tiny little squeak the wheels make .
The Bingo Room is opened, aired out, then the food bags are
made ready. Medications have already been prepared plus a
bag of chicken hot-dogs all sliced up is on board.Special gift
for the nuns is placed into the cotton bag that is warn across
my chest bandoleer style, a green handkerchief is threaded
through a belt-loop, boonie hat is placed on my pointy head,
camera is checked and we're off to medicate the dogs.......;-)
The sound of angry primates was echoing throughout
the jungle along with startled birds they had disturbed.
Surprisingly the rain had started to let up a bit but it really
didn't matter that much as my old carcass is soaked already.
Rocky and Zoomer came flying down the wet road soon as
they saw us crossing the broken concrete walking bridge.
They escorted us all the way to the nuns place where
the first batch of medications is administered.
From there we travel on to The Spirit House.
The photo you see here is one crazed ape
that took a swipe at me cuz I have the food.
Happened so fast Mama was caught off guard.
The Zoomer didn't even see it coming but Rocky
was quick to take action and drive him up a tree.
Once our routine at The Spirit House was wrapped
up we head back to the nuns so all the dogs could
receive a lot more attention while I sit under the
roof that covers one of their porches. I'm wet.
Half an hour later an The Hooligans are tended to.
Another half an hour an Mama and I are back at
The Dog Palace where we are both resting in
the bingo room.My shirt was hung in front
of a fan, didn't do much but at least I tried.
By noon the rain was lighter, my energy
level was just enough to make it home.
Upon my arrival no# 1 wife, her brother
and one niece helped me dismount
the scooter and carried my stuff
into our home, I made it ,,,;-)

In Tangkoko, Sulawesi, I was following a troop of black crested macaques when I became intrigued by a male who had separated from the main group. I followed him as he walked across the black sandy beach towards an old fire pit. He dug around inquisitively, moving the burnt out pieces of wood as if he was building a fire. Much to my surprise he then he started to chew on the charcoal. He may have been using this as a form of self medication to help relieve indigestion, a behaviour documented in colobus monkeys. www.ironammonite.com/2014/09/why-did-crested-macaque-eat-...
