An RNA virus is a virus that has RNA (ribonucleic acid) as its genetic material. This nucleic acid is usually single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) but may be double-stranded RNA (dsRNA). The ICTV classifies RNA viruses as those that belong to Group III, Group IV or Group V of the Baltimore classification system of classifying viruses, and does not consider viruses with DNA intermediates as RNA viruses. Notable human diseases caused by RNA viruses include SARS, influenza and hepatitis C. Another term for RNA viruses that explicitly excludes retroviruses is ribovirus.

Went to the Base today for allergy tests. They pressed different serums into my back to see if I got allergic reactions. I had to wait twenty minutes while hives formed and my back started itching like crazy. (Scratching was against the rules.) Not fun.

Man, this swine flu buzz is crazy. There were doctors with face masks everywhere. The clinic looked like a set straight from a zombie film (haha).

Termination with abortion pills in Polokwane is the safest and effective way to end an early pregnancy. Which kind of abortion you choose all depends on your personal preference and situation. Some people like abortion pills because you don’t need to have a procedure in a doctor’s office. You can have your medication abortion at home or in another comfortable place that you choose. You get to decide whom you want to be with during your abortion, or you can go it alone. Because medication abortion is similar to a miscarriage, many people feel like it’s more “natural” and less invasive. For more questions contact +27727793390. www.faithabortionclinic.com

It was only day surgery, so no need to be alarmed, just conducting some tests to discover if my body perhaps hates me even more than I currently realise by adding another potential auto-immune symptom to the list.

I felt special because I got a red arm bracelet instead of the normal white ones. Danger! Danger! Alert! Simply coz last time I got anaesthetic I broke out in an unknown rash. But I'm glad they erred on the safe side by keeping an eye on me.

No signs from anything in today's tests, but they've taken some little pieces of me away with them to test further. Apparently even when my insides might be sick they like to hide the symptoms from anyone who cares to look.

After the fact, seeing as I forgot to get someone to take a photo for me while I was in hospital - no bringing valuables inside, especially when it's a borrowed camera!
