One Billion Rising is a „must” event for me to attend each year in SL. This year, however, RL kept me so very busy on 14th February that all I could do was to wander around in the already abandoned sims almost a day later, trying to take as many pictures of the amazing artwork and the gardens as I could.

Memories flash back at unexpected moments. You never know what will trigger it. The pain never fully goes away, it just gets manageable. You never "get over it". The wounds scar over, but it can take so little to re-open them. But we can stay silent no longer. It HAS TO END.

What it took: Well, I would lie if I told you I have no experience with those kinds of shots, but it is nevertheless lots of work still (most of it cleaning up the bathroom before the shot). Especially the colortemperature is a critical point when shooting objects with different colors. In this shot the dark suit changes the color of the bathroom tiles, so this is a composite out of three shots: "the empty bathroom", "the bully guy" and "the nerd". And then it is just finetuning...

Il est avec une grande tristesse que nous percevons les faits, selon la police du Canada, causés par les jeunes hommes, que les hommes, qui se disent Incels, involontaire célibataires, donnant l'écoulement à leur frustration sexuelle et sociale par l'agression aux gens, en particulier les femmes.

Nirbhaya means Fearless. Its a word for a woman who is brave and fearless. The term became popular after the 2012 Delhi Gang Rape incident which took the life of a Girl. She was given the title Nirbhaya for being strong and fighting till her last breath.
In compliance with Indian law, the real name of the victim was initially not released to the media, so pseudonyms were used for her by various media houses instead, including Jagruti ("awareness"), Jyoti ("flame"), Amanat ("treasure"), Nirbhaya ("fearless one"), Damini ("lightning") and Delhi braveheart.
The 2012 Delhi gang rape case involved a rape and fatal assault that occurred on 16 December 2012 in South Delhi, India. The incident took place when a 23-year-old female physiotherapy intern, Jyoti Singh Pandey, was beaten, gang raped, and tortured in a private bus in which she was traveling with her friend. There were six others in the bus, including the driver, all of whom raped the woman and beat her friend. Eleven days after the assault, she was transferred to a hospital in Singapore for emergency treatment but succumbed to her injuries two days later. The incident generated widespread national and international coverage and was widely condemned, both in India and abroad. Subsequently, public protests against the state and central governments for failing to provide adequate security for women took place where thousands of protesters clashed with security forces. Similar protests took place in major cities throughout the country. Since Indian law does not allow the press to publish a rape victim's name, the victim has become widely known as Nirbhaya, meaning "fearless", and her struggle and death have become a symbol of women's resistance to rape in the world.
