Today was a day for me. My dad is coming into town tomorrow and I decided to take an extra vacation day. I got my hair cut (a couple inches off, yikes!). I did some stuff I have been wanting to do around the house. I took the kids for hair cuts (they look super cute!). I visited a friend in the afternoon and had dinner with her. It was nice to have a day where I did what I wanted for a change.

My mom never has to work, she always has vacation.
Ouch, such a statement that fits and hurts a lot. What kind of ideas do the children sometimes have?
So did a customer’s children. The children are currently on spring break. And the man also has a week's vacation with the children.
That's what the children say at breakfast. Mom is always on vacation. The mom was just a little speechless and served.
What answer do you give? How do you make it clear to the children that this is all work, and 24/7?
When she told me that, I had to swallow. Even if the statement wasn't meant to be bad, because that's simply the child's impression. I can well imagine that a statement like that hurts.
We then thought about how we could make the children understand what kind of work goes into it.
Yes, we parents also have a right to time off. For a while. Only when we are doing well can we ensure that the family is doing well too!
