too much processing? I am addicted what can I say ;-)

...its a struggle to get this shot right. The various shades of yellow confuse the camera and the low light makes it even harder.

..so I finally got this right without a tripod. I used the tungsten WB, ISO 1600 and little saturation (it makes everything yellow)...its also reasonably sharp..

This is the second floor (P2) of the Grainger parking lot under the UW Business School...and its empty on Sundays...

I liked this angle

The light looks cool somehow and makes the car stand out against the somewhat bleak background (no leaves, no color). This is exactly how the picture came out and I like it.

An old shot that I've re-worked a smidge...

Pic taken from very far, unlike the sedan the wagon is very rare here. Wagon cars are rare here, except the Subaru Outback.

The 6 was launched in 2002, replacing the 626. The Liftback model is kinda rare here, unlike the sedan which is very common.

2017 Mazda 6 Grand Touring

My baby...She's smooth to drive, smooth to touch, and her ride is out of sight. When looking for a new ride I almost left her behind. Tried her sister out instead with reservation on what to expect..need to say she didn't thrill my mind at all. So giving a 2nd chance I spotted her in the dealers show room. Sat in her, took photos and video's. Took a deep smell of her perfume and fell in love. I watched another gorgeous young woman drive out of the showroom and straight into my arms she fell. She's a showgirl alright. I enjoy watching her performance everyday. :)

Mazda, globally is a fairly small fish.

When the Mazda6 MkII was launched in 2008, the company was part of the larger Ford Motor Company - a product of some interested post-WWII treaty outcomes, along with some strategic missteps in the 1990s during the Japanese Economic downturn.

The Mazda6, both in MkI and MkII forms was part of what was known as CD3 - a Ford Platform code for midsize platforms that included the first and second generations of the European Mondeo, various Mazda models, and some US vehicles - the Ford Fusion, Lincoln Zephyr/MKZ Sedans, and the Ford Edge & Lincoln MKX SUVs. CD3 was replaced in 2007 in Europe with the EUCD MkIII Mondeo - EUCD morphing into CD4 for the MkII Fusion / Lincoln MKZ and the second generation CUVs.

This might imply that the CD3 was an old platform. In part, this was true, in an earlier iteration it had provided the basis of the Mazda Capella / 626 and the Tribute SUV. However Mazda had focused much attention on setting up vehicle architectures to maximise reuse, and to improve the Product Development creation cycle to reduce investment and to provide platform bandwidth for the creation of various vehicle configurations.

Mazda, departed the Ford stable in late 2008 as part of a company restructure to ensure company liquidity during the Global Financial Crisis. Mazda has gone on to develop new vehicle architecture(s) under the name SkyActive, preserving the philosophy of commonality, bandwidth and re-usability.

This Lego miniland-scale Mazda6 model is the 2008 launch MkII. The Australian market had three bodystyles: sedan, liftback and wagon. The MkIII version no longer includes the versatile liftback, as the US market does not favour this body configuration.

The first-generation Mazda6 was launched in Japan as the Mazda Atenza in May 2002. The model lineup consisted of a four-door sedan, a four-door hatchback and a five-door wagon, marketed in North America as the "Sport Sedan", "5-Door" and "Sport Wagon", respectively. In Australia, the lineup was first available in Limited trim, as a sedan; in Classic trim as sedan, hatch or wagon and in Luxury trim as a sedan and liftback — and Luxury Sports trim, as a liftback. In New Zealand, the lineup consisted of 2.0L GLX (sedan only), 2.3L GSX (sedan, liftback, and wagon), and 2.3L Limited (sedan and liftback).

The first generation was marketed as a 2003 model in the United States and as a 2004 model in Canada. In Europe, the luxury sports model was available as a 120 hp (89 kW) direct injection turbodiesel ("DITD") estate up until 2007. As of 2008, the European Mazda catalog listed only the "Sport" version of the 146 hp (109 kW) turbodiesel estate, while the "Luxury Sport" version had been dropped.

Drivetrain combinations included the Mazda MZR engine in configurations of 1.8 L (L8-DE), 2.0 L (LF-VE) and 2.3 L (L3-VE), initially with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission (with a sequential-automatic option, dubbed the "Four-Speed Sport AT"). In the US domestic market a 3.0 L Duratec 30 V6 engine was also available with a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic (with a sequential-automatic option, dubbed the "5-Speed Sport AT"). European and Australian versions also feature a four-cylinder turbodiesel that comes with a six-speed manual transmission and produces significantly more torque than the V6, with much improved fuel economy.

2016 Mazda 6 Grand Touring in Deep Crystal Blue

I am no expert, but this is what I know. Critiques of this are very welcome!

What is panning? It is a technique that is used to capture moving objects. One popular object to pan are cars, but you can also apply this technique to other moving objects like bikers, joggers, dogs etc. A good shot of a object in motion has the two following characteristics: (1) the object is sharp and (2) the rest is blurry. (1) and (2) give the picture a sense of motion.

The picture is a good pan of a blue Mazda6. How do I know it is a good pan? First, the car is sharp. If you look at this picture in original size you will see that the car is very sharp; you can even see that the driver has a small earring (at least he has good car taste). Second, the background is pretty blurry. Look at the trees behind the car - all one nice blur. Third, look at the wheels. Since the wheels move differently than the car, they are in motion. If you blow up the picture again you will notice that the middle of the wheel is almost still. In fact, you can almost see the small Mazda logo that is there.

For another example of a good pan look below at this pan of a Ford Tempo (one of my best pans had to be this old car!).
