"You rang!?! " This riverside bird sculpture reminded me of a character on "The Dobie Gillis Show" for some bizarre reason or other. Perhaps it's the eyes that gave me the prompt.

I've noticed my old phone's photo quality is far better than my new one. With my new one I'd never be able to clearly read the plate of that Polo in the background, but with this, I can.

A southbound train on BNSF's Marshall Subdivision leaves Maynard, MN and its large elevator complex in the distance. On this long stretch of prairie tangent track, the crew can already see the small town of Asbury on the horizon ahead of them.

Rock band Tool's lead singer Maynard James Keenan performing at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday, March 12, 2022.

The band allowed us, the photogs that rep the media outlets, to shoot the first song, instead of "standard" first three songs, of the show - Fear Inoculum which that lasted around 12 minutes long. The 12-minute long was plenty.

When Jill Clardy and I walked around her daughter’s wedding venue this past Saturday, my A.D.D. kicked in full-force with all the amazing rusty, vintage farm equipment laying around the ranch. There was so much to choose from, I really had to limit the spots I was going to take the bride and groom. There are orchards at the Dana Powers House, and a barn, and open fields and a Victorian house and a bridge, and grass area with tons of 1900s rusty equipment… I could have stolen the bride & groom for 4 hours and setup little vignettes of their day… but alas, had to return them to their party. I think that was only fair.

This rusty old truck sat in an open-air garage which was where the groomsmen got ready. When they slid into the truck, you could hear them scraping the pieces of broken leather seat.

STROBIST: I had the groom hold my SB-900 flash with my iShoot PT-04cn trigger at 1/16th power – 1/20th, f/2.8 ISO 800

"...in July the white clouds come. Wherever you may stand they always approach from the horizon. Small domes of gleaming vapor appearing over ridge or mesa - drifting in silent rhythmical ranks - ascending, building, trailing their ultra-marine shadows over the open lands." - Maynard Dixon

Dixon was a very productive artist in the first half of the 20th century. And one of his favorite subjects was the western desert with its beautiful, cumulus clouds and their shadows. When I was in the Arizona desert looking out over this landscape I couldn't help but think of how inspired Maynard Dixon would be by this scene. October 2015
