Maya the Bee:

The series main protagonist. She loves freedom and living in the meadow by herself, unlike other bees who live in the hive. She is good, fair, happy and willing to help everybody

Long time no see. I haven't been much here lately. Our jobs has started and I haven't felt very inspired with taking pics. Now I felt like trying this wig on Maya again. I didn't like it before but with a hat I think it looks pretty awesome :D And of course had to take a pic ^^

Congratulations to Maya Tihtiyas on her recent MFA graduation! She's got some wonderful artist residencies coming up.

From a shoot we did in 2018 (which I'm literally still processing photos from, mostly because I'm terribly slow).

Maya is the superstar Osprey at Rutland Water

The name comes from the Greek Maia, the goddess of spring.

She's occupied the nest at Manton Bay since 2010 and has raised an amazing 26 chicks., with another four this year

She wont go on forever of course (The typical lifespan is 7–10 years) but for now she is the undisputed 'queen of the lake'

Poor light., but she's still a stunning sight!

Maya is very intrigued by the noise of the construction site of a building next to mine. For the moment, the workers have been digging a huge hole for days and they are making a terrible noise with their large construction machinery.

At times Maya will hide under the sofa and reappear when it is calmer.

Today is Sunday and we have peace of mind and Maya has climbed on a dresser on the balcony to look at that big hole in the neighboring lot.

Courage Ma Maya because this project will unfortunately last for many months.

Chichen Itza was a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people of the Terminal Classic period. The archaeological site is located in Tinúm Municipality, Yucatán State, Mexico.

Chichen Itza was a major focal point in the Northern Maya Lowlands from the Late Classic (c. AD 600–900) through the Terminal Classic (c. AD 800–900) and into the early portion of the Postclassic period (c. AD 900–1200). The site exhibits a multitude of architectural styles, reminiscent of styles seen in central Mexico and of the Puuc and Chenes styles of the Northern Maya lowlands. The presence of central Mexican styles was once thought to have been representative of direct migration or even conquest from central Mexico, but most contemporary interpretations view the presence of these non-Maya styles more as the result of cultural diffusion.

Chichen Itza was one of the largest Maya cities and it was likely to have been one of the mythical great cities, or Tollans, referred to in later Mesoamerican literature. The city may have had the most diverse population in the Maya world, a factor that could have contributed to the variety of architectural styles at the site.

The ruins of Chichen Itza are federal property, and the site's stewardship is maintained by Mexico's Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (National Institute of Anthropology and History). The land under the monuments had been privately owned until 29 March 2010, when it was purchased by the state of Yucatán.

Chichen Itza is one of the most visited archaeological sites in Mexico with over 2.6 million tourists in 2017.

My cat Maya waiting patiently for me to open the door for her so she can wander outside. It's always a nice spot to snap a photo, as the entrance glass diffuses the outdoor light...
